Let me begin by saying that this is how a food establishment should be run!! We were in the area visiting family and we agreed that we weren't going to cook so we decided to look up someplace to eat. I noticed right away the name Toskana on the list , because when I worked in Eastern Queens I used to go to this really nice place on Northern Blvd which was named Toskana as well. So we decided to head there. Street was busy but they had their own parking in the back . As we were walking in we noticed lots of balloons and other decorations at the entrance, apparently it was their 1-st year anniversary party. Was worried that everyone would be exhausted especially since it was 10 of us without reservation but this nice lady who turned out to be the owner welcomed us with a smile and authority , and our table was prepped in record time. As I walked my mother to the washroom (very clean btw ) I was very tempted by their pizza's , showcase was perfect and I could not help but notice that the counter was made of expensive marble. Our waiter(I'm bad with names) was a young man a real pro and very sharp. Knew the menu like he was a chef too. Always appreciated people who know by heart what they serve! Appetizers came out in less than 15 min, delicious. I wish I remembered to take pictures of the rest of the food but let me tell you, those guys can cook! Food was very tasty, ingredients were right, portions were big. I must mention , we were sitting near the double door leading to the kitchen. Couldn't help but notice the floors in there were spotless! Boss lady stopped by several times to make sure everything was right. We asked her about the earlier celebration, she said she knew they would get slammed so they thought they were ready but she lost count after 250 pizzas . Apparently they were running a 1$ slice special that day but that's a whole lot of slices folks . Everyone in the table loved her personality! She hugged my mother too, which made her day!! In the end we asked for the check but not before we enjoyed some delicious espresso on the house. Now I take mine w/o sugar but my wife uses lots of it. Her espresso was so creamy it passed the sugar test with flying colors lol for those who haven't heard about this test before, sugar is supposed to sit on top of the cup for 3 seconds and than fall to the bottom .
I mean , if what I wrote here does not portray how's it like to have a really good time at dinner, I don't know what does Dear .... (forgot boss lady's name too, sorry) , thank you so much for your hospitality. If your place was a little closer to the Bronx I would definitely come to your place you once a week. I know a thing or two about restaurants, and I can spot one that's well run...
Read moreI am at a loss for words to express my immense gratitude for stumbling upon this extraordinary restaurant. When I decided to celebrate my dad's momentous 70th birthday, I encountered exorbitant prices at most venues. However, this hidden gem of a restaurant turned out to be a true revelation. From the moment I spoke with the owner, Jenny, I knew this was a place of exceptional quality. Jenny's remarkable accommodation and seamless booking process left me in awe. She graciously allowed me to make payment plans leading up to the event, making everything so much more manageable.
The outstanding experience began with the awe-inspiring food variety that left every guest raving. The flavors of each dish were simply divine, a testament to the culinary artistry at this establishment. But it wasn't just the food that left a lasting impression; it was the unparalleled customer service delivered by Mike, our exceptional server. His attention to detail and genuine warmth made everyone feel like honored guests.
To further emphasize the uniqueness of this place, I enlisted the services of Ines Yazbek , an extraordinary event planner, to handle the decorations. The result was an atmosphere that exuded both coziness and glamour, creating the perfect ambiance for the celebration. The affordability of the prices was astounding, and we even had the privilege of bringing our own DJ to further enhance the festivities. Moreover, when I needed to showcase a special video, the staff graciously offered to use their TV, adding an extra touch of thoughtfulness to the occasion.
I cannot express my gratitude enough to everyone involved in making my dad's birthday dreams come true. I wholeheartedly recommend this exceptional establishment for any future events you may have. The experience here is unparalleled, and the memories created will be cherished for a lifetime. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for helping me give my dad the unforgettable birthday celebration he had...
Read moreIn to Garden City around 8pm for a meeting the following day and looking for some Italian food. After a recommendation from a colleague I arrived at Toskana at about 8:15. Dining room was empty but one of the guys behind the counter was friendly and had me take a seat and served me. I ordered Chicken Parmesan and it comes with salad or pasta so I chose a Caesar salad. Also added a slice of Sicilian for an appetizer.
The pizza was delivered in about 5 mins piping hot along with some bread. The slice was perfect… crust had a good amount of crispness, the cheese was gooey, and the flavor was spot on. I had a couple pieces of the warm bread (I think it was focaccia) and saved the rest for my meal.
7-10 mins later my entree and salad were served. I ate the Caesar first while the Chicken Parm was cooling and it was just ok with a good flavored dressing. The Chicken Parmesan was thin, tender, cooked perfectly, covered in sauce & cheese and absolutely delicious. I used some more of that bread to consume as much of the remaining sauce as possible.
Service was great, soda refills plentiful, and cost was reasonable. There was a steady stream of carryout customers which is always a good sign that the food is a winner.
When I’m back in the Garden City area I’ll revisit to try some more menu...
