Recently ordered a platter for 12 people to be delivered to son’s home in Great Neck.. The platter was delivered and to our disappointment it was unbelievably sparse. We were told that for a platter that size there would be 4 pounds of meat. We did not have the means to weigh it but it was definitely short,. As it turned out, there were only 8 of us. I had also made brisket and farfel on my own. Had I not made these extras, there certainly would not have been enough to feed 8 pretty small eaters. I was embarrassed at the paltry amount of the food on the platter. My husband spoke to someone named Todd, at the Greenvale location, who told my husband that all the meats are weighed, perhaps so but with someone’s finger on the scale. Additionally, the turkey did not appear to be cut from the bone, it looked like turkey you would buy at a supermarket deli counter. Avoid ordering from this location at all costs. You will be very disappointed and not have enough food to serve to your guests.
I did in fact receive a communication from a Ben’s representative today. I was offered a $15.00 credit to my Bens card which I have refused. The communication went on to say that they do not use carved from the frame turkey on their platters, at no time when I placed my order was I told that “mystery meat full of preservatives” would be included in my platter. Surely, fresh carved is healthier than mystery meat. I just want to put it out there that this so called caterer leaves a lot to be desired and are not to be trusted. I know I sound like a crazy person but I feel outraged at being cheated by these people. Shame on you BEN’s of...
Read moreI come to this area a lot since the movies are right next door. I saw this restaurant and wanted to try it. The food looked great, I tried one of their sandwiches and the place was nice. The problem I have is with the staff, particularly one of the waitresses. I have delt with her twice. The first time she yelled at my niece and I, because my niece (whose 10) brought in a slice of pizza, she said it wasn't kosher and they "don't do dairy". We ended up ordering to go. The second time, we made sure my niece ate first before going inside the restaurant. My niece had a bottle of snapple and the same waitress stomped over to our table and once again yelled at us saying that the snapple could not be in the restaurant. I got upset and ended up hiding the bottle and told her "there, no one will see". One, she was so rude about it and two my understanding is that Snapple drinks are kosher certified by the OK Kosher agency, so I don't understand what her problem was with us. From the moment we walked in, she was already giving us an attitude. She never checked in, even after we ordered our food, only approached to bring the check. I wish I could have remembered her name but she was an older shorter woman. These 2 experiences make me not want to go back. I was offended and disappointed. We tried respecting the belief and made sure to not bring anything that's not kosher appropriate and she still had a problem. She should do...
Read moreI rarely leave negative reviews, but this visit was frustrating from start to finish. The staff seemed disinterested and rushed. No warmth no professionalism. I placed an order including 3 deli sandwiches which one was specified to slice the corn beef very thin. It felt like minimal effect went into preparation. For the price I expected to get what I asked for, instead I received the corn beef sandwich which was thick and rubbery!! I also asked for rye bread with my two orders of matzoh ball soup, luckily I opened the bag to check and there was the two very end pieces of bread. I asked for another 2 pieces and the man doing my order asked for the two little pieces of bread back. My reply was “are you kidding me I just touched them!!!”. Does that mean they reuse bread that been touched by previous customers!! Overall it felt like the restaurant was coasting on reputation rather than delivering a worth while experience. I won’t be returning and I’d advise others to look elsewhere if they valve good...
