Wow what an experience. After 20+ years of visiting, working and dining in Port Washington I finally got the idea to try La Petite Framboise . Tucked on the corner of Main Street I’ve always said I’d try it , always said it’s won awards and the signeage and building have a lot of charm. It was also a special occasion ….
So I wouldn’t say I’m the biggest appreciator of French culture I am a bit biased on their stereotypical attitudes and how they take themselves seriously ( maybe we do that in NYC too) but anyway I love some of the food and was in the mood for a great brunch . Working on losing my snobbishness for certain things
Walking in I was greeted by what was the co owner I felt him eyeing me French style somehow lol but I wore him down and by the end of the brunch we were laughing and making plans to come back ( Mussels Monday)
Decor is A+ very cozy a lot of art lot of French artifacts. Imagine this is what it’s like in Paris I’ve never been but someday.
Food on point the brunch is extensive the menu is folded up like a newspaper , you unravel it and whoa you have the key to the French culinary universe , French onion soup, mussels , pancakes , any kind of amazing French toast , omelets you name it .
My companion and I had different French toasts both excellent with massive thick cut bread I imagine it’s challah bread . Had the apple stuffed with an amazing crème . Had the French onion soup which I could eat anyday very flavorful rich just enough gooey cheese on top . Cappuccino on point just enough foam , good espresso well done . Had a French cocktail very refreshing a bit medicinal for me maybe the elderflower but would get that again.
Great experience all around ….wait staff excellent and very apologetic our food took a long time partially due to my aforementioned soup but maybe it was the experience who knows 😆 good atmosphere lively and friendly patrons and vibe . Would like to see it when it’s more quiet as well. Staff very sweet both owners came over told us their stories , I want to hear the long version 😆
Thanks Franboise team , see you on Mussels Monday 😎 ✌️ 🇫🇷 🇺🇸 🍾 🥐 great experience will...
Read moreI’d like to begin by saying, I do not like being hateful towards establishments. This restaurant made me rethink my decision to go. To start off, the immediate seating was good, just too close to comfort to other people when the whole place wasn’t even near full. Usually at a restaurant you are presented with a menu as soon as you sit, nope! Today it took 6 minutes to receive a menu or a waiter introduction. We were served complimentary bread, that was actually the best part of the dining experience. We ordered the Caesar salad (no photo) for an app. This salad could have been done better by McDonald’s, it was prepackaged lettuce at most with a little amount of cheese. For the entree we got a cheese burger and Bourguignon (aka braised filet mignon). This was possibility the most disappointing meal I had in weeks. The filet mignon tasted like regular beef from western beef, the sauce was not up to par, with a lack of any notes, and the pasta, just below average which I’m surprised because it’s hard to mess up pasta. The cheeseburger was interesting with an egg, but still not impressive, it was below average, the fries were just thrown in oil with no salt or anything. Overall, I wouldn’t come back even if I was starving. The disappointing part is we came around 12 and no brunch. Maybe the brunch could save this establishment, but that’s for someone else to decide. Overall, the location is nice, parking is a 5 minute walk which is fine. But the food didn’t sit right with us; oh I forgot! the latte was just an instant coffee basically. The waiter was good, until I waited 15 minutes for the check. The owner I think, walks around asking how everything is, I had to lie and say it was okay because it would have made no difference. It was too late. Be careful! Go spend your cash somewhere else! Thanks for...
Read moreHola foodie friends 👋🏼! Today’s foodie adventure took us on a trip to Paris… not literally, but totally delighted our palette and delicious Parisian fare. As you know, this foodie will travel for food and a lovely 45 min drive landed us at La Petite Framboise, French bistro cafe. The decor transformed us right to France from the moment we arrived! Such a romantic vibe!! Met the most beautiful Alexandria and her son Matteo. We chatted about all her amazing media posts that I knew I need to have a little of this and a little of that because there was noooo way I could decide on one meal!! We were immediately served freshly baked bread and croissants 🥐 omg!!!! I could eat that allll day long! They are shipped in straight from Paris!! Every bite was perfection. I started with the ever media famous Belgian hot chocolate served with chantilly cream. 😱😱😱😋😋 and my husband opted for a mimosa 🍾! Delightful is an understatement and as informed dunk the croissant right in the chocolate. 🤤 amazing! For food, my husband (bit of a plain Jane lol) had 2 egg breakfast and plain French toast! The brioche tho.. whatever magic that toast is dipped was better than any plain French toast I’ve ever had! I opted for the croque madam & creme brûlée French toast! When I say, I shimmied & did a happy dance in my chair, boy did I ever!! Flavor explosion!!! From the top notch service to amazing decor and food to die for. This place is a gem! Date night, day date, anytime. Thank you Alexandria for delighting us with a meal that is clearly made with love. I need to go back as I had my eye on a fellow patrons French onion soup that looked divine!! Cheers to the next...
