Sweet Treats On the Wharf — Restaurant in Town of North Hempstead

Nice enough place . I had soft serve frozen yogurt here twice and ice cream once. It was good , but not great . It's a fun place to go and great to bring your out-of-town visitors to because it's cute and quaint in a lot of ways. The location is nice...close to scenic waterfront, ample parking available. They have a nice selection of "old style/ nostalgia candy" ...like Mary Jane's, Pop Rocks, Bit O Honey, fake candy cigarettes, hard to find gum& such from the 80's-90's. There's a good-sized collection of candy that you can scoop into bags yourself & buy anywhere from 3 pieces to ???? 3 lbs. Every time I've been there the place is very crowded but the line moves quickly and there are a few tables inside and some benches outside. This place is a staple of all my summers on Long Island, with its always friendly staff, amazing ice cream, and overall ambience being close to water. Even with all of the COVID restrictions and waiting in longer lines than past summers, it was hard to be mad knowing that the staff, many of them young students, were doing what they could and of course, the ice cream itself never disappoints! The Maple Walnut and Chocolate Brownie Ice Cream are two of the flavors I think about...

Have been in the past and has been great. Went tonight and I got a small cup and my husband got a medium cup. My small had literally a half of scoop of ice cream and the medium was one very large scoop. Add hot fudge and it was $14. Service by the young kids was terrible...took a phone call after taking my order and made me wait until finally sending someone else to give me my half scoop...I could have gotten several pints of Ben & Jerry's and it would have been better and a...
