Another fantastic meal at a great restaurant. Tara, the owner who runs the front is the nicest, most friendly person I've met. And her husband Mario in the kitchen puts out dishes you have to taste and take a breath in between to get lost in your thoughts. It's that good. Tonight we started with the mussels which were light, perfectly cooked and deep in flavor. They had a porcini ravioli special which we had as a second course. Each bite was unreal. I'm terribly disappointed I can't have another taste right now. For entrees I had the dover sole which came delicate and properly fortified with a lemon/butter/caper dressing. A certain plus- I substituted the potatoes it was offered with for the sweet corn risotto that was part of the scallop special. Wow. What a great dish on its own and what a great place to be free to make the meal as I'd like it. My wife followed suit with the lemon sole with capers and artichokes. Again- it was delicate and flavorful. A wonderfully dessert finished the meal with an after dinner cocktail on the house. I find it hard to find a better restaurant on...
Read moreI agree with Trudi's review - this place has an awesome old-world service and a great menu. This place reminds me of Arturo's or La Marmite (but the italian version). The waiters & maitre'd are very nice, accomodating and have quite the sense of humor. I ordered the almond crusted chicken with mashed sweet potato - and this was just heaven! My boyfriend had the veal marsala style and he was in utter awe - he swears it didnt taste at all like veal (he cleaned his plate!) You get to choose your dessert from a dessert cart. We chose the homemade tiramisu and it just melted in our mouths! Their menu is slightly pricey however, I got lucky and spotted and Groupon Coupon (spent $20 for $50 worth of food) and our bill came out to about $11 plus tip! This is a great place and will become a...
Read moreI enjoyed the simple, tasteful decor and the cleanliness and comfort of the dining area. The menu is expansive with interesting options. The start off with Italian bread and focaccia, with flavored olive oil. We each enjoyed our starters of shrimp cocktail, a huge, tender, flavorful artichoke, and crispy calamari. The squid was served with a choice of dipping sauces, I chose arrabiata which was excellent. The branzino was terrific and served with jumbo shrimp, salmon was excellent, and the orecchietti was served with a light sauce loaded with broccoli rabe and sausage. Deserts were beautiful and delicious. We had satisfying tartufo, tiramiso, and their specialty called zuccotto, which was unusually delectable. Service was exceptional: quick, professional, accommodating,...
