DO NOT GO HERE unless you want to get bitched at by town staff. Don't bother calling either for clarification bc of ARROGANT town reps. This park was a first park visit for my baby last year and I wanted to recreate the pics this year. It was a fun park that was open to all but now it's a private park.
THIS IS NOT AN OPEN PUBLIC PARK ANYMORE. It's now a private "area" with ID only.
They do NOT allow guests. They do NOT allow anyone who runs a business in the town to get access either. Anyone pay tons of taxes to the town of North hempstead and they are NOT allowes to use it.
Only a valid current driver's license works. You can't buy a day pass or show ownership of local store.
The park itself is nice if u can get it. They changed the rules two weeks ago and when I asked the rep in the phone if that will be for the fall and winter too he said they don't know but probably.
AVOID THIS AT ALL COST if you are looking for an inclusive...
Read moreI loved coming here with my special needs son. 5 mins away but now we can’t go cuz our address!!! So ridiculous. I’m just livid over this and I hope they’re happy. Nice of them to redo the park then make it exclusive and next they’ll probably start charging. I’m going to go out of my way to not ever go to any Carle place restaurants, nail salons, hair salons, anymore. If anyone else sees this and is just as angry from Mineola there’s an idea for you! We’re probably a huge chunk of their customers since CP is tiny.
It honestly makes me feel sick. How are we supposed to explain to kids???? Oh sorry we can’t go there anymore. I always thought Mineola and Carle place were practically twins until this nonsense. From our dj, to my wedding dress I was happy to be using local businesses there over the last 20 years. Now I’m pretending it doesn’t exist. I refuse to spend anymore money if it has...
Read moreThe splash pad at Charles J. Fuschillo Park used to be a great local spot for families, especially in the summer. But as of June 30th, they’ve changed the rules: only residents from specific Town of west Hempstead areas are allowed in.
This wasn’t always the case , it was more welcoming before, and many families from nearby communities would come and enjoy the space. Now, unless you’re from specific towns listed on their new rule board, you can’t enter, even with children.
So before you make the trip or invite a friend from another area, double-check the town list or risk being turned away at the gate. Definitely disappointing for those of us who used to come here regularly.
This change really limits access to what’s supposed to be a public resource, hoping the town reconsiders...
