Updated review. So, over a year ago I gave this place 5 stars cause it was amazing. Last year had been just one horrible experience after the other. I would like the say the server we had tonight was really nice and accommodating. To start one of our beers was really bad, and she replaced it. We got nachos with chicken cause they were out of beef. They tasted pretty good, but chicken was cold. Last time we were there I didn’t feel well after eating a garbage plate, but thought maybe it was something else, so gave it a shot tonight. Potatoes in it were barely warm and gross, burger was cooked rare when not asked. Inevitably I ended up having to rush to the bathroom and got sick. On top of that my husband’s brussel sprouts on his clutch cutlets were raw. The cutlets themselves have always been different the last year too, and are hit or miss really good or really bad. On top of that I ordered a bath bomb sour, and the server told me they were all exploding due to cooler being warm. Also, the place just feels gross. The bathrooms are disgusting and everything is broken in them. Once again our server was amazing and the only good thing about this experience. She did remove our plate from the bill.
On top of this some guy in a wife beater who came out of the kitchen, walking all over the place, and talking loudly. I don’t know if he was the owner or what. However, he was talking loudly about DEI hires causing issues for air traffic control. People can have their opinions, but it’s kind of a turn off hearing people talk politics in the work place for customers to hear. From what i understand air traffic controllers are one of the hardest jobs to do, and most people flunk out during training. There has been an extreme shortage since the 1980s, and most airports are way understaffed with air traffic controllers doing the job of multiple people on little sleep due to forced overtime.
We use to really love this place, but outside of the really nice servers working here the place has become disgusting.
Previous review: Love this place. Manager that serves is always awesome, and they accept beer pass. Anyone who loves the clutch cutlets though it has changed. still good, but it is no longer 2 big cutlets. It is now one small fried piece of chicken a third the size of one of the old cutlets. Apple chutney isn’t as good. Also, the sweet potato mashed potatoes are more chunks over mashed. Nothing is as epic as it was, but more healthy...
Read moreClutch was...fine. We used to frequent the greece location, but the food quality and service went downhill, so we stopped. We kept up with the canal location and kept seeing amazing photos posted of their food, so we stopped in for an early dinner.
The waitresses seemed fustered, they were trying to roll silverware, do sidework and handle the customers outside, but definitely struggling. Idk if the previous shift left them a mess or what but it was noticed.
We got loaded nachos, which did not come with all the toppings listed on the menu, they were okay but the homemade chips were slightly oil logged. The food was also just okay, the Nashville chicken was lightly dressed with toppings listed, so a lot of chicken patty and bun. The buffalo chicken wrap was pretty standard.
The saving grace was the cocktails, the bartender did a good job.
We couldnt find our server (as they were all huddled in the closet by the bar) and we had asked for to go containers and were trying to pay and leave. We ended up giving our payment method to another server we flagged down and I had to get up to ask one in the closet for togo boxes for the wrap. They were kind and trying, but again, flustered and seemed overwhelmed.
Overall just a mids experience, it was exactly like going to the old greece location after quality and standards dropped a bit. We'd love to give it another try maybe on a quieter week night and not a sunday afternoon. We were excited to get a taste of the old clutch we used to love going to, but we'll have...
Read moreFOOD POISONING!!!! We came here for a private party last Saturday. My boyfriend and I ordered dirty martinis from the bar. One with vermouth, one without. The drinks came and were disgusting and tasted wrong. We tried each other's and they tasted exactly the same. I barely drank mine. My boyfriend drank his and immediately broke out in red hives all over his face and neck. We told our server who had the manager talk to us. The manager insisted there was nothing wrong with the drinks and she personally watched them get made by the bartender. Later in the evening, the manager admitted to me that they actually ran out of olive juice. So instead of telling us they couldn't make us our drinks. She said they took olives and added water, then muddled them in an attempt to make "more olive juice". How disgusting!!! That is not even what olive juice is made of. So the manager lies to me about him getting sick, then tells us the disgusting thing they did to our drinks.
I decided to switch to a red wine after the martini incident and had a glass of cabernet. I went to get a second glass of wine and was told they were all out ( which is now out of cabernet and olive juice on a Saturday night). They said they had merlot. I asked for a sample before committing. I was then told they didn't have any open merlot and were not going to open it for me to try it before committing, even though I had to switch wines because they were out...
