I dont know where to start. This was the worst food I've ever had in my life. The brisket was inedible. Dry, cooked to death, it tasted EXACTLY like dog food smells. It was horrible! Not juicy, mouth watering, fatty or flavorful, the way its supposed to be. The exact opposite. The ribs were much the same. Dry, tasteless. Nothing smokey about them. They weren't AS bad as the brisket, they didn't taste quite like dog food but they tasted OLD like they had been reheated a couple times after being originally cooked a week ago. The macaroni and cheese... ugh! Totally flavorless and the macaroni was so overcooked was mush! The Kraft Mac and cheese in a box I had as a kid is FAR better by comparison. The garlic parm fries weren't bad. They were good hand cut fries but they didn't taste garlicy at all. My waitress was lovely! I had a lot to say about the food, I was as nice as I possibly could be while being honest, and she was very understanding, very sweet and accommodated me as best she could. I told her about the dog food brisket and the mush mac and cheese etc. She asked if she could get me something else and I said ok. So I ordered the 4 smoked wings... 🙄🤦♀️. They were horrible too. They weren't dry like the ribs and brisket. But they had a strange taste I couldn't put my finger on. I dipped one in their "blue cheese", and spit it out. It was off too! Tasted like an old refrigerator. And it was basically just mayo. No blue cheese. They were bad. So bad. At this point I gave up. THANKFULLY I had ordered a cup of the lobster bisque (which was actually quite good. The ONLY edible thing) or I'd have been starving. The waitress said there wasn't much she could do bc the boss wasn't in but said I should call her later. I'd read some of the reviews before we went there and noticed how the owner replied to people that complained in reviews. So i lnew what to expect. She said to 1 person something like that if they'd said something in person instead of hiding behind a google review she could have done something like given them a "gift card." Well a gift card wouldn't do me any good bc im never going back there. She also commented on a customers complaints saying that she'd read their other reviews and they had "mostly negative reviews," about everything, as if their experience was their fault bc they can never be satisfied. Well if u read my reviews u can plainly see they are 90-95% possitive when it comes to restaurants. And I most definitely said everything I had to say to our lovely waitress. So speaking to the owner wasnt necessary as i already knew my options. Knowing I didn't want a gift card and having my meal taken off the bill wasnt an option I told the waitress if she gave me a bowl of the lobster bisque to go, I'd call it even. And thats how it ended. We paid $70 for that food. But it's done and we were happy to leave knowing we'd never go back. An all around tragically awful experience (except for the very...
Read moreI was in this part of NY with my fiancee for a funeral. I personally needed to get out after the services and was craving some BBQ; we found this place after a quick Google search. To be honest, I was slightly hesitant when we pulled up and saw the building but the reviews were solid so in we went. And, WOW I'm glad we did!
Let's start with our waitress. She was amazing from the moment we went in. She was a little busy at first and rather than just letting us sit there to wonder what was going on she came over, let us know she would be with us shortly, and grabbed us a couple drinks. Communication! That's all I ever ask for when I'm dining out.
When she came back my fiancee was having some trouble figuring out what she wanted. Our waitress asked if we had ever been there before and we said no. She brought out, without us asking, a sample platter of their sides so we could give them a shot. An amazing idea that took about 2 minutes to come up with but meant the world to us.
Throughout our dinner she made sure to refill drinks before they sat there too long and check in with us after a couple bites to make sure everything was great. I am a GM for a very high end restaurant in NH and I'm a bit of a snob when it comes to dining out, yet I would take her for my restaurant anytime.
The food was stellar. Fall off the bone ribs, maybe the best beans I've ever had, and mashed potatoes with brisket gravy that I couldn't get enough of. After our meal the owner, Bob came out to check on our meal and we ended up in a 20 minute conversation about food, the industry, and life. He was so tuned into the area that he even knew of my fiancee's uncle that had passed.
I rate a good amount of places I go (I tend to eat out a lot in New England) but it's rare I write a review. I told Bob I would write this one and I needed to follow through. If you want BBQ, come here. The next time we're in the area I know I'll be here again. One of the best dining experiences I've had in quite some time! Check...
Read moreI can say right now this is not worth 50$ and that is what I was charged. And for having to pay 50$ didn’t even receive the full order and when questioned why it was so much I was told it was 18% gratuity because the containers went up…. Sorry but horrible excuse when gratuity is supposed to be for employee and a dine in service. Will never order again.
In response: this is not in any way a 50$ meal. And on the order online it says side of 3 piece corn bread. We got 2 …. That aside. And 18% gratuity charge is truthfully unheard of on a takeout order. Added gratuity is for a service or a waiter …. Which was not provided. Not that I would ever not tip… but to charge someone 18% on a takeout out service…. Say what you will but my family and myself have own a restaurant for many years and yes costs have gone up…. But 50$ for a single person meal that is advertised as a combo meal. Trying to pull off that that meal is even meant for two people for that price is a joke. The sad thing is that if you in any way had tried to offer some sort of compensation for the issue I absolutely would have ordered more food and tipped 20% but your very poor customer service is what has lead us to not return to you ….. very busy establishment ( 2 tables seated ). We have a lot of family and friends that we have taken in there before but after this experience we will not be returning and neither would that. I have seen in your past reviews the same issue has been a problem with your o line orders. A small piece of advice is to maybe revisit how you handle your customer service because I can tell you it goes a long way in returning customers. And word of...
