Stopped by in August and definitely would return. We weren't too hungry, so we got drinks and some appetizers. But the entrees that flew by our table were so tempting and smelled amazing! They have lovely outdoor seating that's perfect for a weekend brunch in the sun. Our waiter Mathew was phenomenal!! Funny, patient and informative. We ordered frozen mango cocktail with empanadas. Great crust and tasty filling. My friend ordered the taco trio with shrimp and I enjoyed that as well. Looking forward to their entrees and more cocktails next time. Thumbs up! *UPDATE: Last time I visited Maura's was August 2021, recently in February 2022. Went to properly have dinner and this is going to be my favorite spot for great Peruvian food. For drinks I had the Spicy Margarita Peru ($11). This was so delicious, I could have had two. Not too sweet and a little spicy. Taste of an alcohol infused fresh squeezed lemonade. Appetizers shared the Camarones a la Piedra ($14) Jumbo Shrimp on yuca and OMG! The bomb. The shrimp were perfectly cooked, the yuca was creamy yet firm with what tasted like anchovies laying on a sweet reduction sauce. Flavor bomb! For entree, I ordered Pollo a La Brasa ($21.99) with charred brussel sprouts a d sweet plantains. The rotisserie was probably the best I've ever had. I don't eat chicken skin and I ate the crispy skin. It was juicy and gently flavored. A beautiful meal from start to finish. And out waiter Kevin was amazing. See you all soon!

Maura's kitchen is a cute bar / restaurant and fun vibes but overall is pricey and has small portion sizes for a Peruvian restaurant. I'd rate it a 3.5 star and willing to give it another shot. We had good service. We had one waitress who checked on us multiple times and ensured we had everything we needed. Drinks Like cranberry mule but no cranberry flavor Coconut margarita was missing coconut taste Passion fruit margarita was solid Sangria was average Food Overall feedback was that the food was good but a bit salty. Portion sizes have decreased since the last.time we came. The green sauce was good but we had to ask for multiple times. Plantains were a highlight. Well cooked and high quality plantain used. Pernil had a few fatty pieces and not enough rice to balance. It tasted better with the green sauce. Chaufa were a solid option. Unfortunately it was salty and smaller portion size. Ahi de pollo - February special. They were good but potato could have been softer and overall chicken came out a bit salty Major gripes 1) automatic 20% gratuity charge 2) small portion size for prices. I would love to see either portion size to increase or price to go down. 3) passed on the 3.9% credit charge fee on top of meal

It was our 1st time viisting. and ftom the welcome greeting to the farewell hope to see you soon, everything in between was really good. we were greeted at our table by Nick the waiter, very professional, New the offerings inside out, seemed very passionate about the specials. We went staight to the main dish selection , ordered the seafood jalea, enough for 2-3 and yes it really is. If, you are into lightly deep fried fresh seafood , then you must try this plate, topped with thin sliced red onions, cilantro and red pepper with fresh lime juice the combination was paired with crunchy and soft on the inside Yuca chips. the plate and service was very good. will be back soon to try other plates.

UPDATE: Just wanted to start this by mentioning that I sent this review over to the restaurant to ask for their opinion on the service we received. They have not responded, which would indicate to me that they found this experience to be totally acceptable. I feel justified in my single star rating for an establishment that treats its customers in this way and then refuses to even communicate with them regarding the issue.

Original Review: I hate to leave this review. I've been going to Maura's for years - since it was at its old location on Midland and Main. I'm actually not a local anymore (and haven't been for years) but my parents discovered Maura's when it opened and every time I am back in town we have visited at least once.

In truth, it was never as great as it was the first couple of times we went. As the menu changed and Maura was less involved it seemed to lose something special - but was still an enjoyable meal. Maybe just habit kept us going after they moved shop to Broadway - they certainly lost a lot of their charm opening up in the new location and despite the menu changes (again) the food was pretty tasty.

Tonight however cemented the fact that I shall never return to Maura's. The service (or lack thereof) was just horrendous. Both my parents, my daughter, and my wife all ordered Taco dinners. I ordered the half-rack of ribs which were on special. All the Tacos were brought out together and I was the sole person left without their meal.

I honestly wasn't watching the clock, but everyone was half way through their food when the waiter came over and told me my ribs would be right out. By the time my wife had finished her (entire) meal and I could see my parents and daughter were slowing down and not likely to finish theirs I called the waiter over an told him to just cancel my ribs. I wasn't about to make my entire family wait while I ate half a rack of ribs after they were already done with their meal. I apparently have some semblance of consideration - which is far from what I can say for the staff tonight.

The most disgusting part of the whole affair is that not a single word of apology was offered. I wasn't offered anything while I waited - not a drink, nor an explanation. And after cancelling my order not a word was uttered either in way of apology, explanation, or consolation.

100% inexcusable. Goodbye...

I've been a regular customer at Maura's for a long time, since well befor they moved to thir new location. While yhe food remains as good as it gets, unfortunately the service and attitude of the owner, Tyrone has changed DRASTICALLY! I go there at least 1-2 times/week and have experienced a drastic change in attitude, and tonight had a HORRIBLE experience! They have a bartender who has always had a cold and arrogant attitude, about which I have spoken to management about. I have bringing and deferring friends there for yeats. Tonight this bartender and I finally had a confrontation in which she disrespected me graphically in front of my 21 year old daughter, totally unprofessional, unprofessional, and out of line. I wad shocked that the owner, Tyrone, srrmed perfectly okay with this, which shocked me as he is a very classy guy. It was a humiliating and horrible experience, one which I am shocked by and will never go back there, which kills me because their food is so great and this has been my favorite restaurant. There seems to be a different attitude since they moved in to their new location. The bartenders name is Gillian, and she is as cold and disrespectful as she is beautiful. I am very disappointed in Tyrone as he seemed to condone the disrespect...
