Unbelievable experience! It feels like we have been living under a rock for all these years in the area. Just amazing. The Arata style sushi - described as "it's like opening a box of jewels" - was clearly the star of the show! I thought they were quite expensive, at 3 pieces for $13.50, but once I popped the first one in my mouth, it was like the heavens opened up and angels were singing. This was the first sushi restaurant where we were given specific instructions to NOT dip in the soy sauce, and we followed to a T. The other rolls we went for - Daniela, Unagi Labyrinth, and Arata Spider - were also exceptionally nice, but still paled in comparison to the beauty of Arata Style. Can't wait to visit again!

The service was amazing- very polite, accommodating and genuinely friendly. I had the lychee martini and it was just OK. The food overall was just Ok as well; however their sushi was great. If we go back I would only go for their sushi rolls and specialities. I gave it 4 star instead of a 3 due to their service and sushi itself. Their chicken udon wasnt very good - the chicken was too dry; their beef teriyaki was not great - the beef was too chewy and tough. The kids enjoyed their miso soup and rice. But beyond that they didn't really enjoy anything else. There's parking in the back and street parking as well. It's not very large so reservations are definitely recommended.

I am sooo disappointed with the food I ordered today that I am writing this review immediately after eating it and I’m still in their parking lot. The “chef” that prepped the salmon eringi, knife skills are non existent as everything was cut way too thick and inconsistent and the sauce has been changed and was inedible. The spicy tuna crispy kale was a sloppy mess, again absolutely no consistency in cutting, the tortilla was cut in half? The Arata 3 piece sushi, I couldn’t bite through the salmon, tried to chew it, and chew it and chew it. This was my very favorite sushi place for the last 6 years, unfortunately after this last experience I won’t be returning as the quality has declined a bit over the last couple of years, but not nearly as bad as it was today. UPDATE: I got a call from management almost immediately after posting this review and they apologized for my bad experience and they will talk to the kitchen staff. I appreciate that they did that and hope it will help other diners in the future. I’m adding 2 more stars from the original 1 star for...

If I could give a zero I would. The food is mediocre. Nothing special. Mushy, overcooked rice. Chicken katsu was okay. Rolls are not very authentic. More for the local taste. My review is mostly about the service. Talk about poor service!! Do not go for an early dinner (4:50 pm) with a baby. You will feel very unwelcome from the moment you go inside. Mind you my 9 month old didn’t make a peep. Anyways…. They moved us about 2 times. No one was inside the restaurant. The waiter made an issue about it all. Up to that I was ok. Once my husband took our eldest to the bathroom. The waitress cleaned our table, mind you my daughter s plate was full and she was still eating. Yes food on her plate that she did not get to eat bc the waitress cleaned her plates. The attitude was terrible. The service horrendous. I would suggest the owner to better train their staff. TERRIBLE TABLE MANNERS. HORRIBLE SERVICE. 0...

I've frequented Arata both in house and take-out. I believe there has been a change of ownership in the past 2 years. As a result of garnering high praise they have forgotten that consistency and good food is key. The chirashi I have always praised came out flimsy, without the typical egg, sashimi pieces and was full of rice. For a place that prides itself on being a top sushi restaurant I was extremely disappointed. After having been a patron since it replaced Tsubo years ago, I am no longer giving Arata my business. The sushi pieces have shrunk since the beginning, the entrees have changed for the worse, the ramen is something you can get at a stand, and the omakase (Arata special) are really no longer anything to rave about. Whatever factor they had they have lost it and I hope they can...
