I went here with my friend at 12:30pm October 11, 2024. The girl here was very nice and kind. It was a good experience, the inside of the coffee shop was decently clean. Everything was going well, me and my friend sat down and began to get some work done. Within a few minutes, we noticed the music was too loud. I went up to the girl and she was very kind to allow me to put on some classic Chopin and Tchaikovsky. Mind you, we were the only 2 people in the shop the ENTIRE TIME.
In a few minutes, a long haired skinny tall man came from the back and started whispering to the girl stuff about the music. It clearly sounded not good and I did not want her to get in trouble, so I told him that I asked the switch the music and he told me to disconnect (spotify has a music share feature and the girl was kind enough to allow me to play my classical playlist using that feature from my spotify).
I followed his request and disconnected and then he proceeded to put back on very loud folk music. I asked them both if they can change the music to classical music which they did for about 5 minutes. He then came up to me and my friend with an iPad, asked if the music volume was good, I said yes, and then he said okay, walked away, and the put back on folk music. I have absolutely no idea what was wrong with this guy. I even specified that we are unable to concentrate with the loud music in the background.
Update: I just asked the girl what the name of the tall guy was and his name was Azah (pronounced: Isaiah). Apparently he was the owner. Very poor customer service and awkward behavior from him. Will not be coming here again. He made my friend feel very uncomfortable since he kept whispering so ferociously at his poor employee about the music. Keep in mind, the shop is very small and the vibes were off. I also want everyone to know that we were the only customers in the shop the entire time. Not once did someone even walk in to get something and then leave.
Again, I want to reiterate that the girl was very kind. She did nothing wrong. I'll give the benefit of the doubt and say the owner was maybe...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreOne Spring was on our āDad/Daughterā Summer bucket list of coffee shops to visit. I have been here a few times by myself, was glad to finally get my daughter here. Review: quaint part of town, many other inviting shops within walking distance. Limited street and rear lot parking. Love the brick storefront and old time bench out front. The first step through the front door feels like youāve entered a classy, boutique-ish, high end social gathering spot. Love the comfortable and welcoming feel. Wonderful background music plays as you take in all the visuals of the interior. First and foremost the shop is impeccably clean, neat and orderly. The owner went to great lengths with the quality of craftsmanship used with the rough sawn barn board trim. A look over the service bar and you will find 2 of my favorite toolsā¦ā¦. a Mahlkonig and a Slayer. The owner pulled a double shot of Espresso for me that did not disappoint. My daughter was looking forward to One Spring ice cream but due to a stomach ache we had to take a pass ( we will be back to taste test). The owner is very knowledgeable, patient, polite and takes great pride in his shop. One Spring has normal coffee shop small eats and a selection of teas. The walls are full of interesting Knick-knacks, memorabilia and board games. We very much liked One Spring- we recommend it and we will be back to sample some treats...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreSo the past month my mother and I have been trying to check out this place since we are coffee enthusiasts. The past three Sundays we have gone and they have not been open as per hours mentioned. Anyways, today we finally went and it was open!!! I ordered a lavender, coconut milk latte and my mom ordered a small americano. Both of our drinks cost $10 and tasted like coffee flavored tea!
There was another customer inside and he asked the ābaristaā, āwhere did you get trained for this?ā And she replied, āthe boss sent us to the city for one day, he doesnāt really careā.
The ambiance and atmosphere is really nice, donāt get me wrong BUT to get gross tasteless coffee for $10 was extremely disappointing. We did order a small chocolate from a Brooklyn vendor which cost $5 and that was good. In addition, thereās no pride in their work. I wonāt be going back and wonāt be recommending this place to anyone. Go across the street to the other bakery.
Update: I never said you did NOT open but I went at 8:30AM on a Sunday (as per the business hours posted) and you were not open at this time. The last time I tried to go we...
