Stoped in over the weekend after a three year hiatus from this place to give them another shot and see if the food has improved. We stopped going a few years back because the food was always hit or miss, and the place in general was just run down. To our disappointment, not much has changed. My wife and I both started with French Onion soups and an order of wings to share. The soups were incredibly salty, as if they dropped an entire salt shaker in the broth. My wife sent back half her soup. The wings were O.K., nothing I would travel out of my way for. For our entrees I had the Texas burger and my wife had a chicken sandwich. The Texas burger was dry, the bun was stale, and it was overloaded with BBQ sauce. My wife's chicken sandwich was bland.
Aside from the food, the restaurant itself needs TLC. The booths are all ripped, ceiling tiles filthy and missing in places, it seems the owners must not care too much about the restaurant anymore.
It may be a decent bar hangout for the locals or a good place to have a drink while watching a game, but when it comes to eating in the restaurant I would not return. It's a shame because the area is lacking when it comes to a decent local pub to grab...
Read moreThis is a nice looking, spacious tavern with a large bar and tv area and lots of tables for dining. However as the breaded entrees for dinner, I do not recommend it. We were large group for early Sunday dinner . The breaded chicken cutlets, the breaded chicken milanese and the breaded shrimp entrees some of us had, were very dry and the breaded coatings were much too thick. In addition there were no sides with the chicken milanese version except some mixed salad greens placed on top of the cutlets with a sharp balsamic dressing on the side. It would have been more forthright to say "side salad" and include a bed of rice or some potatoes. Plus there were hardly any tomatoes as indicated or they were diced so small to be unnoticed. The pork entree was dry as well.
The noise level was erratic since there were numerous people watching sports in the bar and yelling at the team plays. But being in a tavern, it's not a criticism...just know to expect, that during your dinner, the noise will affect conversation. Service was fine and courteous and prices were reasonable. There was plenty of parking on the street and may have been a parking lot...
Read moreOn Friday 1/13/23 - 6:15 I Called to see if reservations needed for 6:30 and was told no. My husband and I went and asked for a booth that we saw was free and was told no booth free. We sat at a tiny table, ordered a hamburger and bratwurst special. Family of 4 comes in next to us and is eating their dinner 20 minutes later - Also another table of 5 sat and ordered after us and finished their food and we still had no food. Husband tells waitress we ordered 45 minutes ago and we have no food. Waitress goes to computer for five minutes and we then asked for check for drinks and she says sorry it’s taking a little longer because of the burger- do you want to wait a few minutes-45 minutes and still burger not done??? SERIOUSLY? We said check please and left $1.00 tip when it should have been $0. Horrible experience. We used to go there a lot - never again. I’d give rating a 0 for the horrible service but...
