I called on 4/3 and spoke with Brian at the Plainview store to place a catering order that was to be delivered on the morning of 4/6. The only positive experience was that the delivery driver was true to his word and at the Long Island Hilton by 5:45am. I ordered the continental breakfast with fruit and added the dessert tray for an additional $34.99. Per their website it is supposed to have an assortment of mini black and white cookies, rugalach, rainbow cookies and lintzer cookies. The breakfast was to come with muffins (very dry), danishes, bagels, cream cheese, butter, jelly, fruit salad, coffee, orange juice, and paper goods. I did not receive the additional $35 dessert platter, nor did they provide us with plates, or forks. Thankfully the Hilton had no issues with supplying us with plates and forks. I did call the Plainview store that morning and was told by a manager that Brian no longer works there and that I received everything I ordered and that they don't make black and white cookies. I did not receive everything I ordered, and if you don't make black and white cookies update your website because it's false advertising. Overall, I was very disappointed with the fact that I paid $35 for an item I didn't receive then when called out on it was lied to. How difficult would it have been for that manager to just issue a refund for the missing platter? Instead of doing the right thing, he just blew me off and has...
Read moreI got a coupon for "buy 12 bagels, get 6 free" from Flip N Save that comes in the mail. I went on Saturday morning (10/12/24) to buy bagels. The employee at the store told me that they were not accepting that coupon on that day b/c of a "holiday." The coupon and the advertisement from the Flip N Save did not state that the coupon was not good on certain holidays. There was no sign in the store or the window stating that because it was a holiday, they would not accept coupons. The only limitation on the coupon is that it "cannot be combined with other offers." I find this to be dishonest. The employee at the store was smug and unhelpful. I walked out and took my business elsewhere since I refused to give my money to a place that engages in false advertising. I've bought food from Gold and Meyer before, but this was a very disappointing experience.
EDIT 10/18/24: This is an edit to respond to the owner. The owner is lying. I have attached a picture of the coupon (there is nothing on the back side of the coupon, just coupons for another establishment). As you can see, there is no mention that the coupon is invalid on a holiday. Simply put, the owner of Gold and Meyer is a bald faced liar. The fact that the owner would lie on something so easily disprovable is shameful. I would advise anyone reading this to take their business elsewhere and not support an owner who will brazenly lie rather than take care of...
Read moreFood is pretty disgusting. I ordered an egg sandwich and somehow it was ready in about 15 seconds. It was either premade or someone else’s order. The eggs were cold, you cannot serve an egg sandwich that is “fresh” and it comes out cold? When I received it, It was wet??? Cheese not melted. My “egg” bagel was about as white as a piece of paper, and extraordinarily chewy. Bagels are not cooked how they advertise. Staff is rude too, gentleman refused to helped me when there was no line. In addition he took someone behind me and ignored me when I spoke up about it. They don’t care which is blatantly obvious. They will serve you anything if it means you leave. Food is horrid wouldn’t feed it to my dog. The owner should be disgraced by how this...
