Golden Temple — Restaurant in Town of Oyster Bay

Let me first say that Chinese food is our favorite dining out experience. This place was recommended to my wife by some friends. This was our first time. They do have a limited Dinner Special menu that includes soup, an appetizer and dessert. My wife had the Crispy Sesame Chicken. She liked the Hot and Sour soup since it was not too spicy and contained no pork. She was a little disappointed with the Steamed Chicken dumplings, but really enjoyed the main course. I had the Boneless Spare Ribs, off the regular menu, and they were VERY tasty, but a little too much fat. I ordered the Taiwanese Mei Fun, and asked for it to be prepared spicy. The dish came out regular, with a side plate of hot sauce. That to me is a no no. This is the only Chinese restaurant where that has happened, and I have been going to restaurants for about 60 years. I like to have any spicy sauces blended in with the dish while it is being prepared, so I can see how hot they make it, and THEN I can add more spice if necessary. But it was tasty. The waiter was not the most congenial person, but he did explain things. They also have Japanese and other Asian foods...

My friend and I both ordered the dinner special. When the soup came, my wontons were cold in the middle. Usually that wouldn’t bother me but as we were waiting for our entree, 2 plates of sesame chicken, I witnessed our waitress put two plates of sesame chicken on another couples table. She walked away but was called back and took the food. She then went to the back, and then seconds came out with the same food and put it on our table. When we asked her, she deflected and the manager then confirmed the mix up. Absolutely disgusting, especially during a pandemic. You should NEVER have to look at your surroundings to make sure your food is being handled properly. Very sad, my friend spoke very highly of the place and has gone there numerous times...

TERRIBLE! We ordered specialty sushi rolls for takeout, and when we got them home half the ingredients were missing. The rolls they gave us did not match the menu descriptions AT ALL. Unfortunately another family member brought them back and believed the restaurant when they claimed that the ingredients were inside, so we were stuck with what we got. Eating the rolls only further proved that we did not get what we ordered--no masago, no scallions, no crunch in sight, and one roll contained sauce and tempura coating that were not specified. VERY UPSET--this sushi was expensive and we did not get what we paid for. It seems as though they felt they could cut corners and get away with it. Will never order...
