Kebab Express Halal Grill Syosset — Restaurant in Town of Oyster Bay

I will leave feedback on aspects of the restaurant that you might be interested in, addressing each attribute separately.

Placing an order: I placed the order through a third-party app for self-pickup. On that app, I received a B1G1 offer on the "combo mix with rice."

Staff: The staff seemed pleasant and responsive. There were no attitudes or hang-ups from them, so no star deduction here.

Food and prices: This is the heart of the matter, as it's the most important aspect of a restaurant. I ordered a "combo rice platter." Considering the inflation and rising prices everywhere, I feel the price was just about right given the amount of meat I received. It was an even sweeter deal with the B1G1 offer. The amount of both lamb and chicken was incredible, along with the rice. It was delicious—flavorful but not overloaded with spices. Those who may be sensitive to spicy food will find this attractive, and those who want a kick can request hot sauce to add even more flavor. The rice is brown but very tasty. Overall, it was fantastic.

Atmosphere: Next to food, the environment is equally important to me. There is plenty of seating, with tables/chairs as well as sofa seating. I found the restaurant more contemporary and cozy than many other places. The lighting was adequate but not too bright, and thankfully, no harsh tube lights, which I don't like. The ceiling was bare with open beams, which wasn't very appealing. I’d suggest adding some kind of covering for it. But overall, the atmosphere was cozy and attractive.

Cons: Order, wait time, efficiency

Their kofta kababs seem to be made to order. Waited about 10 minutes for the person in front of me to figure out what they were doing.

Then waited another 15 minutes after telling the employee I wanted the kofta kabab…if I would’ve been told this while waiting I would’ve put in the order while he was tending to the person in front.

Also i was told he would call me over to make my bowl when the kofta kabab was ready. It was only after I approached the employee about my order taking a long time did they decide they were going to make it because they started tending to other patrons that had come in the meantime and were placing their orders. Well, my favorite place in Huntington opened a new location, closer to home. Same great chicken and rice I was familiar with yet with a new take on it. This is now a put that in a bowl and you select the toppings, which is unlike what I was used to but what many places do. Lots of fresh toppings to give my old favorite a new spin.
