The service was good. And the staff was warm and friendly. But I left feeling very unimpressed. I ordered a dirty chai latte but they didn't have any milk other than almond and oat. I chose oat because it would be the more creamy selection. Typically when I order a coffee product especially a latte, I expect the creaminess of the drink to be part of the pleasure sensation. Unfortunately it was like drinking water. It also had a very strange flavor like the way old breast milk smells. No biggie.
I ordered another drink - a specialty. Something sunrise or whatever. It was okay but definitely not worth the $15 price tag.
The two others that were with me ordered loose tea. I've had plenty loose tea before. But everything, including the two other drinks we ordered, just seemed very light and flavorless.
The country music was blaring and the girl next to us was singing loudly. It is what it is. Maybe that's some people's vibe. I can't say that I will ever be back. The only saving grace was the...
Read moreI really enjoyed the Patchogue location because you can go there and have a kava/kratom drink and just relax. The massapequa location isnt the best location. You have to park behind the bowling alley/deli or hope for a spot on Merrick road. One of my gripes is there are too many theme type nights (which I get because they want to bring in business) but it doesn't have the same vibe as the other location. There is comedy night, industry nights, etc. Every bartender is very kind and nice. They had a customer loyalty program when I first came to this location but signed up a few times and nothing ever showed up in my email either or my phone number when I signed up that way. The price points on the drinks are a bit high. To purchase third party tested kratom, grind it, and turn it into tea, it doesn't jive out. This location missed the mark. Unfortunately the majority of these reviews are friends of the location and non...
Read moreIsland Kava is my happy place. The service here is top-notch — everyone is incredibly friendly and welcoming. Honestly, it feels like you’re hanging out with family (the kind you actually like being around). It’s laid-back, quirky, and exactly the vibe I’m looking for after a long day.
The people who hang at the bar are chill and fun — always down to chat or play along with the silliness.
If you’re looking for a spot to relax, laugh, and maybe question your coloring choices, Island Kava is...
