Embarking upon the hallowed grounds of Massapequa's culinary gem, Undici, one is immediately enveloped by the aroma of perfected tradition. The first encounter with their illustrious upside-down slice is nothing short of a visual sonnet. The cheese, rich and molten, lies beneath a vibrant, ruby-red sauce, its sheen a testament to the quality of tomatoes used. The sauce itself is a masterful balance of sweet and tangy, with a hint of herbaceous whispers that sing of old-world secrets.
With an 8.7/10 score - a veritable titan in the realm of pizza ratings - this slice is a monumental offering. The crust, thin yet robust, is a marvel, with a delicate crispness that yields to a tender chew, a stark and welcome departure from the oft-too-dense foundations found elsewhere, including the iconic L&B Spumoni Gardens. Indeed, Undici's crust is a revelation, a golden-hued canvas that supports the weight of its toppings with grace.
As one delves into the experience, each bite is an amalgamation of flavors, so exquisitely balanced they could only be described as legendary. The mozzarella is a cloud-like foundation, stretching into luscious strands with each pull, its taste clean and milky. The sauce, applied with a judicious hand, complements without overwhelming, a bright constellation of flavor atop the celestial body of cheese.
In this slice, there is a symphony of textures: the initial crunch of the crust, the subtle give of the cheese, the sauce that adds a gentle resistance before melting away on the tongue. Pizza Undici doesn't just serve food; it serves a narrative of gustatory excellence, a story that unfolds with each taste and lingers in the memory long after the final bite. This is not merely pizza; this is an edible odyssey, a slice to be reckoned with, a standard bearer for all that pizza can...
Read moreIf you're a thin-crust pizza person, this is your place. I am fortunate to get delivery from this pizzeria. We order weekly, and I try to switch up the flavor of the pies. That MVP is great. If you are not a saucy person, then you might have to ask them to go light on the sauce. They also have a great-tasting chicken roll l. It's not the ordinary roll with long slices of chicken. They cut the chicken into smaller pieces. At first, I didn't think I was going to like the small pieces, but they were really good. I have bought these rolls and sliced them into circles. I reheat them in the toaster or oven to make them crispy and use them for appetizers. The kids love this, and they are easy to handle and let me mention they are fairly priced. As an added bonus the guys who work in the place are really pleasant. I know this comment may not mean much to you, but I loved getting my pizza during Christmas in a decorative box. It's the little things in life for me. Best wishes to this...
Read moreStill haven't made the check marks here with the pizza 🍕. When bought the first time around was burnt 🔥 on the crust. Now a fourth time around back to square ⬜ one pizza was missing cheese and flat like ran over by a RV truck. Only the 2 other times got 2 slices each time and they were above grade. There's just no excuse for this as Italian restaurants are always top of their game this one is experimenting with my taste buds and I think giving me the bad cold 🥶 shoulder thinking I won't say nothing. The 2 bad experiences were tainted with a burnt look & smell. So how can I. even try to give the pizza joint the benefit beyond doubt, might go on YouTube blast this complaint out seems allot of unfair treatment for no apparent reasons. As I love the theme and the employees are top notch. Plus I am a colossal connoisseur of pizza in all it's facets! I think people even business people owners that you just can't serve others well and others...
