Kado Sushi — Restaurant in Town of Oyster Bay

Unfortunately something happened to this place that used to be one of our favorites. We ordered delivery of dinner bento boxes. The food taste was ok...not the best...but we were shocked by the teriyaki protein amount that was given for dinner - definitely reduced...however the onions! The onions that are used in teriyaki dish have to be cooked- pan friend or even slightly burnt edges for better taste...but our onions were FRESH!!! That was ridoculous...fresh onions that were enough even sitting in the water before to loose a bitter taste...what kind of chef is doing this???? Moreover, my kid had chicken katso - basically panko friedn chicken - kids favorite ! And you know what we found in his dish??? Large piece of panko fried panko...I'm not kidding! This forst looked like tiny eggplant which was panko fried...but my kid tasted it before I saw it...and he said it was not chicken. I looked at it and confirmed. Tale panko, add an egg batter and form something that can be again panko fried...so disappointed! Unfortunately this restaurant disappointed us for the 2nd time in a row. We won't come back. We hope the management and chefs can improve or otherwise it will loose...

Placed order at 6:21- estimated arrival is 7:20. That’s fine. 7:40 rolls around.... still no food. I call the restaurant just to check in, I’m told that the food should be here any minute. Okay that’s fine sometimes places get busy and run behind. 8:00 call the restaurant, am told they’re going to call the driver again and call me back. 8:10 I call the restaurant again, after waiting to hear about the driver but hearing nothing. I realize I’ve now waited nearly two hours for sushi which god knows what condition it would be jn when it arrived. I won’t order from this place agajn, I understand things can happen but the right thing to do would be call and let someone know they are running so behind not just have them sit around waiting for food which may not have ever showed up...

This sushi place is the GREATEST when you are looking for a nice lunch. Their whole menu is great, but the real highlight here is their lunch specials. The deals are just TOO good to miss out on. My office orders sushi every week from Kado and we are never disappointed. Always fresh and always delivered fast! The man who delivers is also just the sweetest and I love getting to see him each week 😁

We always have very large, somewhat complicated, orders and there are hardly EVER any mistakes. I find that incredible.
