Limani Taverna — Restaurant in Town of Oyster Bay

The newly opened Oniro offers a wonderful Mediterranean dining experience.  From the moment you walk in, you are welcomed by a charming host. The host is so friendly and offers a lovely introduction of the taverna and lounge. I was offered the beautiful bar for cocktails or I could go right to a dining area. I choose to go to a table in the Mezzanine section of the dining room. I was introduced to my server who was delightful. He handed me a a beverage menu and the regular menu. I looked at the wonderful signature drinks and told of their delicious  variates of wines. Before we even ordered drinks a basket of delicious pita bread and hummus was set before us. It was so tasty. The Ananas is a pinapple infused vodka, served on the rocks with a pineapple wedge was very refreshing as was the house Rose. The Rose was so light, crisp and refreshing.

Our server helped me navigate the menu. The selection of the Mediterranean appetizers, raw bar and salads are very inviting. The choices are varied and many. It was so hard to choose, but I finally did. I had the Octapodi (grilled sashimi quality octopus), came highly recommended as did the Kolokithakia Tiganita. The Kolokithakia Tiganita. is thin zucchini, yellow squash, eggplant chips served with tzatziki. The Octapodi was served as a salad. The octopus was so tender and filled with flavor. The Red Snapper was served whole with lots of delicious spices and capers. The fish was light and perfectly flavored. The Lamb Chops were amazing. Grilled Colorado lamb chops, spiced and cooked to perfection with lemon potatoes were divine. I asked the chef where the lamb chops were from and to my surprise, it's a local market in Farmingdale, NY @fdalemeatmkt The lemon potatoes were bursting with lemon flavor. The Lahanakia Tiganta known as crispy brussel sprouts were fantastic with a fantastic flavor. For dessert we had Greek yogurt with honey mixed berries with crushed walnuts was superb. The Baklava and sorbet complimented each other perfectly. This meal was fit for Greek Gods.

I pulled into the parking lot of Oniro, after sitting in traffic. When I entered Oniro Taverna in Woodbury, NY, it was as if I was in  Greece, on the water of the Mediterranean. This beautiful, open, airy and spacious setting just carries you away to a relaxing atmosphere that makes you want to stick around for awhile. Being it was the summer we were offered different choices of where we would like to sit. We were offered the main dining room, the mezzanine part of the dining room, the veranda, or outside. I choose to stay inside because it was so cool and comfortable.  The cloth covered banquette was so comfortable. The colors were in the tones of linen and browns were just fabulous. Oniro also gave you a very nautical feeling as if their was a fishing boat right outside on the water. What a fabulous experience I had at Oniro Taverna in Woodbury! The first time I went there for dinner I was with a group of at least 10 people. The moment I walked in I fell in love with the decor and the atmosphere of the restaurant. At that time we were looking to book a venue for my cousin’s baby shower and immediately fell in love with Oniro Taverna but didn’t want to jump the gun. Most importantly I wanted to see if the food was good! Well, the food was fresh, delicious, and exceeded my expectations! There was something for everyone on the menu. From steak, to fresh seafood, to chicken, to vegetarian dishes. Appetizers and salads were amazing as well! The Greek yogurt dessert with cherries was fantastic. The fruit sweet, cold, and refreshing! Since we all loved our entrees it was an easy decision to hold my cousin’s baby shower at Oniro! I can’t begin to describe what a wonderful shower it turned out to be! The shower was on June 29th and we had the restaurant all to ourselves. We had over 90 guests attend. The ENTIRE staff was amazing with helping us set everything up. The service second to none! Food did not disappoint! The baby shower guests would not stop raving about how much they loved the food and how attentive the staff was. Lia, the event manager, was fabulous from beginning to end!! She couldn’t do enough to help us with anything we needed to get ready for the shower. She walked around to the guest making sure they were happy with the food and asking them if she could get them anything else. Then there was Stephanie and Eleni as well. They couldn’t have been more helpful the day of the baby shower! I come form a large family and have been involved in planning many showers before. This is the first one where the staff was absolutely amazing! All I can say is run don’t walk to Oniro Taverna! There are fabulous lunch deals that won’t break the bank. Dinner amazing as well! And if you decide to have a party at Oniro you’ll see firsthand what I mean about the wonderful staff going above and beyond what is necessary. I went back there today for lunch and feel as if Lia is part of the family now! I will definitely be going back there as often as I can (and I live at least 25 minutes away)! So...

I recently had the pleasure of organizing my rehearsal dinner at Limani and my experience was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment I reached out for assistance, Lia, one of the staff members, went above and beyond to ensure that everything was organized seamlessly.

The food at this restaurant was truly amazing. Every dish we tasted was a delightful.

As for the event itself, the rehearsal dinner was simply perfect. The restaurant had a fantastic space upstairs that was spacious enough to comfortably accommodate our party of 70 people. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, setting the stage for a memorable evening.

The bar area was great, offering a wide selection of beverages to suit everyone's preferences. The table layout was well thought out, providing a comfortable and inviting environment for socializing and enjoying the festivities. The staff were incredibly accommodating, ensuring that everyone's needs were met and that the service ran smoothly throughout the evening.

When it came time for dinner, we were treated to an amazing sit-down dining experience. The dishes were beautifully presented, and the flavors were simply outstanding. Each course was a work of art, and the attention to detail was truly impressive.

In conclusion, I highly recommend this restaurant for any special event or gathering. The combination of Lia's excellent organizational skills, the great space upstairs, the impressive bar, and the mouthwatering food make it a standout choice.
