My first night after moving to the area, I decided to eat at the first restaurant I saw. It happened to be the On Parade Diner! Interior is decorated well, and seating is spacious. There is bar seating if interested. I liked the mirrors everywhere. I was impressed by the size of the menu, ranging from breakfast items, to sandwiches, burgers, pastas, seafoods, and more. I had the Philly Cheese Wrap. The size was actually good and I felt satiated upon finishing. There was very little cheese on it, but there was a lot of steak. For a diner, the prices were exorbitant. Perhaps this is a 'welcome to long island' moment for me, but is it really normal to pay $13-16 for wraps and sandwiches? Dinner entrees were also highly priced in the $20-25 range. This boy can't afford to eat here. Give me the value menu at McD's, thanks.

Just visited on my trip to Long Island... BEST Spaghetti and meatballs I've had from ANYWHERE... they melt in your mouth. The French onion soup was phenomenal, and the broth was perfect. Carrot cake from the bakery case was well balanced... good amount of cream cheese frosting that isn't too sweet, and you can taste the spices. Very smooth texture. Wonderful and attentive service, and great decor. They've apparently been around 50+ years, and just reopened after renovating the fire sprinklers. Super clean, and everyone's really friendly. They really take pride in their craft, and boast all their recipes are made from scratch. A must treat destination for anyone olooking for great food on Long Island...Will be coming back to try their Lox Benedict. Sounds delicious!

On Parade Diner in NY is a charming spot that delivers a delightful dining experience. The ambiance is warm and inviting, with the standout feature being the juke boxes on each table—an unforgettable touch that adds a nostalgic vibe to your meal. The diner’s décor, paired with this unique feature, makes it a place that’s both pretty and memorable. The food was excellent, with a menu that offers a good variety of classic diner fare, all well-prepared and flavorful. Prices are pretty average, making it a great choice for a casual meal that won’t stretch your budget. Overall, On Parade Diner combines a fun atmosphere with great food, making it a must-visit for anyone in the area.

We came in and asked for a table for two. They sat us at a table in an almost empty dining area literally 3 feet from an older couple in a booth. We looked around at all the available tables but the hostess walked away. I ordered French onion soup and a broccoli and cheddar quesadilla . Asked for fish and chips and my companion asked for a chicken salad wrap. Very shortly the onion soup … quesadilla and his sandwich came out. ALL TOGETHER. No plates for the appetizer by the way. After waiting for ten minutes my friend gets up and asks the manger(?) for plates and instead of telling him they will be brought to our table … they plop two plates in his hands which he now has to walk back to our table with. I really enjoyed the soup. The quesadilla was light on cheese but tasty enough and then comes my fish sandwich. If you look back I ordered a fish and chips … not a fish sandwich. But at this point I have soup half eaten quesadilla getting cold and now my fish sandwich which I didn’t order. I push my appetizer to the side and my soup stays half eaten… I pick up the fish sandwich and nibble a piece of beer batter which was surprisingly good. Til I bit into the sandwich and the fish oozed out of the back of the bun. Yes it squeezed out of the breading in a mush of raw batter and undercooked soft fish. The fries were barely like warm… so I paid 20 bucks for fish mush and cold fries. Almost 8 for the delicious soup which they didn’t give me a chance to enjoy before plopping down our 14 dollar quesadilla with barely any cheese. The waiter brought no cracker for the soup or the chili til he was asked to chili was good but bbq sauce flavored. No comment on uneaten food. No “how is everything” I saw a dessert I wanted but I’ll be honest… I’m sure it would have disappointed and I honestly just don’t want to waste anymore money. Summary: Non communicative waiter who basically ignored us until we angrily waved him down. Undercooked food. Delicious soup and chili. Practically flat soda. The stars are for the chili and French onion soup. And for no...

i’ve never been inclined to ever write a review before but this place is disgusting. came in to eat at around 10 PM, and I ordered a hot cocoa for my drink. $4 for not even a full packet of hot cocoa and hot water, the cup just tasted like hot water no cocoa. Then I asked for a penne alla vodka, apparently I couldn’t order that because “the sautee guy left” ?? I then tried to order pasta with broccoli, again couldn’t order that because the sautee guy left. Seemed like an excuse to me i’ve been in the resturant business for over 5 years and never have i heard of a “sautee guy” or chefs that couldn’t cook some pasta and broccoli. I settled on spaghetti with marinara which i could only get a side order of. When it arrived it looked unappetizing and when i tried it it was genuinely jarred sauce on some broken spaghetti barely warm. My waitress didn’t come back for over 20 minutes to check on my table even though we were one of three tables in the whole restaurant. When she did come back i sent back the food i ordered for the first time in my life and she could not of been more rude to me even though I was kind to her because I understand she’s not the one that manages the restaurant and decided to serve someone jarred sauce pasta for $20. The burgers my friends got were below average for the price they charge as well. Also got a Doctor Pepper that was just seltzer water and no syrup in it. I had just gotten off a 10 hour shift working at a restaurant myself and when I was served this food i genuinely started crying. Horrible service, horrible food will definitely never come back here. Not worth the price or the time. Ended up at taco bell after this experience and the food is 100x better at taco bell...

Went for breakfast on a weekday at 8am. Place was empty. After being charged $10.95 for 2 eggs toast and home fries + $3.50 for a cup of coffee, I know why.

With tax and tip $18 for a simply breakfast. Add 2 slices of bacon and it's over $20.

It's a shame to have a full staff standing around looking at each other. Lights, air conditioning kitchen equipment all running to an empty house. Staff standing around looking board and unhappy. Severs working for tips struggle to earn a living.

How many people are going to pay $18 for 2 eggs toast and coffee on their way to work everyday?

Places like this should go back to offering weekday breakfast specials to attract customers, create business and volume.

Bring back working people, commuters, friends and families, instead of charging insane prices and sit there with 10 staff, utilites and equipment running for 3 customers.

These places used to be full of people for breakfast. Weekday breakfast specials where a staple in these places. Now they're gone and so are the customers.

No wonder diners are disappearing. The don't do anything to attract and encourage people to come.

They think they're high end restaurants instead of a place to meet friends and have a good hearty breakfast at a reasonable price.

Shame. Not smart business if...
