I rarely write any reviews, but this time, I really can’t tolerate the service I received. This McDonald’s is the one we frequently visit because it’s the closest to our home. Tonight 2/9/2025, at around 10:45 pm, I placed an order through the mobile app and selected the drive-through for pickup. After providing the pick up code to the staff at the drive-through, I was told to go to the lobby to pick up my order. Although I had chosen drive-through pickup, since she asked me to go inside, I parked my car and went in.
There were no other customers inside, and the female staff member, white female, around 5’4 wearing a black polo shirt, probably a manager, handed me a sealed bag without saying anything and then walked away. Just as I was about to leave, I suddenly remembered that I had also ordered a Diet Coke and wasn’t sure if it was in the bag, so I opened it to check. Upon opening the bag, I realized that the order wasn’t mine.
I found the staff member and told her that the order I received was incorrect. With a very rude attitude, she questioned me: “Why did you open the bag without checking the tag on the bag?” I explained that I didn’t expect to receive the wrong order and that I opened the bag only to check if my drink was inside (as missing items have happened frequently before) and I didn’t touch any of the order by returning it immediately. At this point, the staff member, with an even worse attitude, blamed me for opening the bag, saying that it was entirely my fault and that I’m not allowed to open it. She showed no willingness to resolve the issue. I tried to see if I can get the order that I paid for. She didn’t even bother and went to take other orders.
I asked for the customer service phone number, but the staff at the counter and in the kitchen completely ignored me.
I am extremely angry and confused, as I don’t understand what I did wrong to be treated like this. I have called McDonald’s complaint hotline and will continue to follow up on the issue. I tell the woman taking my order that I am placing an order and picking one up. She asks for the code and I give it to her, and she tells me to pull up to the window. I say, once again, that I am also placing an order, and she seems annoyed and unwilling to take my order. I give her my drive-thru code and try to place my order. I was ordering the $6 meal deal, but forgot the name in the moment. I ask for the ‘$5 mcdouble bundle’. She very rudely says ‘I don’t have anything called a bundle’ so I say ‘the $5 mcdouble meal’ and she again, very rudely, says ‘I don’t have anything called that’. After some back and forth, she FINALLY understands what I was trying to order. She RUDELY says to pull up to the second window. I pull up and the woman at the window, different lady than taking my order, says I have to pay for sauces even though I only got 2 sauces for a fairly large order. The food is a whole different story. It was cold and tasted just straight up not good. I’ve been working in customer service for 4 years and I’ve never had the urge to speak so rudely and impolitely to a customer, especially when they did nothing to deserve it. Read moreI never thought I would ever write a review for McDonald's! I work down the road for this location and I have always had the best experience. I've actually been meaning to write a review sooner because every time I'm here my order is perfect and my fries are always fresh! Their customer service is a staple for how all McDonald's should be. It really is that good. I've even driven 20 min from my home on occasions just because my food is always fresh and hot here. The service is so fast! I normally come during the busiest time and I'm never here more then 5 min. However tonight I came with my husband cause I was in the mood for McDonald's and because the local McDonald's by me just doesn't compare to the quality here I made the drive out and the service was extremely bad from the time I was at the window till getting me food. One of the employees Abu had horrible customer service my fries were cold and when I went back to get fresh ones Abu starred down as to almost intimidate me.
