Might be the BEST neighborhood sushi place on Long Island.
Sushi is everywhere. It's so easy to get but there's a clear difference between good, bad, and amazing. This place is amazing for sure. I don't say this lightly, and I'm a fairly experienced sushi-eater.
Food (from the sushi bar): 9/10 - the fish is incredible fresh. Everything is well seasoned, proportioned, executed, and consistent. The only point in loses here is creativity, and honestly it's not even something I'm missing . But in complete fairness, if you're hoping to go somewhere to discover a new specialty roll with some out there combination this isn't the place. However if you way top tier versions of what you already love, this will not disappoint. I have not tried any cooked (from the kitchen) food.
Service: 11/10 - the staff here is incredible. Everyone is so attentive and polite and friendly. They're not too on top of you, but they also don't let you sit there forever in between important steps like ordering, finishing a plate, or paying - there's great pacing. The guy at the front (seems like the owner/manager?) Is the friendliest guy. He is genuinely excited to see you, and he cares about the business, you can tell.
I'll never forget the SECOND time I went there, which was 2 months after the first, he actually remembered me, and gave me an appetizer on the house to say thanks for coming back. CRAZY!!
Price: 10/10 - for the service, speed, portion, and most importantly quality, that you get from this place, they're charging too little.
I wish I lived closer, I'm about an hour away. I am in the area fairly often, and when I am, getting here is my top priority....
Read moreThis is a nice Sushi Restaurant in Syosset New York, a little bit off of Jericho Turnpike close to The Seafood Oyster Bay Expressway. Small parking lot, next to Wild Fig Turkish Restaurant. Clean facilities. There is some cooked entrees like Udon and Teriyaki dishes. But, Sushi is the main theme here. There is a long Sushi bar in the back. Spicy Edamame, Pepper Tuna, and the Sauteed Squid were good appetizers. Sushi Dinner, which is a Chef's Choice, came with a Salmon Roll. The Nigiri Sushi here is surprisingly better than I expected. Food is reasonably priced. This is more of a neighborhood restaurant, with lots of locals inside. Everyone knows each other. The owner/ manager, Steven(Not Japanese), is extremely friendly. He greets every customer personally, and knows each of them by name. He makes you feel at home, which is why many people come back. We were the only Asian Patrons on a Saturday Evening. My advice, give this place a try, and you decide...
Read moreI was recently introduced to this place and I have to say that i was very impressed with everything from the people who work there to the food, and the atmosphere! They have Gluten Free food and it is made in it's own designated area so there's no cross contamination. This is for people who have Celiac Disease and cannot have Gluten in their diet. They also make most Sushi rolls using Cucumber sheets (Naruto) if you've had a Bariatric Surgery and can't have Carbs, if you're on a diet like Keto, or if you just like to have it that way. The staff are extremely friendly and are helpful when trying to choose what you want or if you need help with something specific! I highly...
