Teddy's Bully Bar — Restaurant in Town of Oyster Bay

My family was in town last weekend for a lacrosse tournament at LIU Post and we stopped here for dinner around 6:30. There were two or three other tables of folks so it wasn't empty but also not slammed.

Service - The hostess was very friendly. The server seemed a bit annoyed that we were there (probably thought we wouldn't be a big check) but was helpful with recommendations. I know this is NY and they want to move folks through but the table staff was basically staring at us watching us finish each bite so they could take our plates before our forks were down. I would have understood if it was slammed but this was not the case. We definitely felt rushed.

Food - The calamari was excellent. Perfectly lightly battered and tasty. The mediterranean salad I got was tiny but everything tasted fresh and it looked nice. My son ordered the fish and chips. The fish was excellent, the chips were just shoestring fries with no salt. He asked for malt vinegar and was told they didn't have it. I felt like all of this was a bit overpriced for the portion size but we enjoyed it.

We love Teddy’s! We’ve been coming here since when it was Canterbury Ales but it was always Teddy’s to us as an icon Oyster Bay trademark.

The people, the food & drinks are outstanding. The service is always excellent we’ve never had a bad experience here.

We’ve had several celebrations party’s here over the years for our daughters that have always been fantastic.

Now that’s it’s been reinvented since the pandemic started & ended we appreciate Teddy’s even more. Live music, great drinks cold beer and delicious food we feel at home here.

The only thing we miss are the photos and the hot sauce cabinet that when our daughters were young they would be mesmerized by the old photos and always want to try the different hot sauces from the cabinet.

I cannot imagine our lives without Teddy’s as iconic a place in the heart of our beloved Town Oyster Bay as TR’s Sagamore Hills.

Very disappointed. Burger well done Asked for medium. Well done egg. Asked for over easy. Fries terrible. Better fries at McDonald’s. Others in my party equally disappointed. Their food was not cooked as requested. Service terrible. Waitress never filled water. Was on her phone at side of room most of the time.

fast forward to august 2, 2022. Was planning on going to tabby’s but my two friends insisted on teddy’s. Disappointed once again! Ordered a bacon cheeseburger medium with an over easy egg on it. Only thing they got right was the egg. Burger was burnt. no lettuce tomato and onion but got a slice of pickle. Fries terrible again. At least they were hot last time.
