Best Indian Authentic on Long Island!! Our family was on a quest to seek an authentic family owned Indian Restaurant and we were so enamored to find The Cotillion. Some people may view it as dated with an oversized crystal chandelier in the lobby and a large banquet room for weddings with pastel color themes. However, after living in NYC for almost 30 years, we tend to judge restaurants based on the food and energy put into the food. The food, is just AMAZING. Being in the profession, we know good ingredients and when the dishes are made with heartfelt care. We just adored the Paneer Makhani. I especially appreciated that they did not add a ton of sugar to satisfy the American Palette. We also tried for the first time the vegetable Samosas. We loved them so much we ordered a bunch to go to use for school lunch. The Onion Kulcha, Garlic Naan were both scrumptious -- obviously made in a genuine hot large oven. The chicken Tika masala and the Chicken makhni were over the top too, and so easy to reheat. The flavors are infused. Lastly the Dal Tadka was so healthy and satisfying, we reheated it 2 days later to enjoy it longer.
Importantly, the service was impeccable, serving us at an odd hour with care and poise and in the Indian traditional clothing. You can tell this is the type of restaurant where they have done the same classical dishes for many years and have not deviated, staying true to the authenticity of their craft. (I hope they don't change).
They were entirely welcoming even though we were the only caucasians in the restaurant. That to us is a good sign when an Indian restaurant is filled with Indian patrons, underscoring that it is genuine fare.
We love it so much we hope to have party there someday for a special celebration. Dont' be dissuaded by the outside 70s look stand alone dated restaurant building -- it is an oasis inside of great food.
Another sign of a full service good restaurant. They had a great bar and were able to fulfill our oddball request for real ginger beer (which they had with fever tree). We may be going to Jericho soon again just to enjoy The Cotillion. It's...

Read moreI had a party there a few months ago and rented the lower hall in the basement. I have to say the manager Gagan was extremely professional and accomodating. He did not over charge us and provided us with many resources. The menu seemed to have many different options both american and Indian food. The day of the party when we went to decorate the place was dirty, full of dust and not one person was helping us. Table arrangements were incorrect so my entire seating chart was off. It took us so long to take care of the things that should have been set up that we were late to our own party. When we got there, no one seemed to know what was going on. There was no welcome drink as promised, the servers did not speak english. Pass arounds started an hour late and the food was atrocious. It was one of the most embarassing experiences I have had. Thank god for our DJ who saved the party. The bartender was missing many times as well. Please if you are looking for a professional party place this is not for you. If you want something reasonable and large then this works. It is a place for low...
