Yim's Wok — Restaurant in Town of Oyster Bay

This place was recommended by a friend but have to say the place looks very greasy and run down as heck - not inspiring or encouraging to eat their food. I had the “jumbo” shrimp lunch special which wasn’t jumbo but okay (about 4-5 medium shrimp) as I was hungry. I just noticed the prior unsanitary reviews and will think twice about going there. I also think they are expensive for a hole in the wall. Beijing House on Jericho Tpke is a sit down restaurant and less expensive with delicious food. You know the latter is good when it’s full of locals.

2022 - Adding a comment to say that since Covid, we really haven’t been back to Beijing House often; they were closed and when they reopened they must have changed chef because our take out was terrible - one of our staple dishes - chicken and broccoli in a garlic sauce tasted bad and a shrimp dish was Yuk! So this is my go to place for lunch due to it being the closest thing to work. The food is a lot better than the average chinese place that you can find everywhere. It maybe a dollar more expensive but certainly worth it and still very affordable. People here usually go for delivery or pick up and if you want dine in, they have a decent amount of seating.

The people there are nice and accommodating enough, they remember the regulars and the food they order. The food also comes out fast enough even during peak hours. They even offer low fat, low carb options for weight watchers.

The place itslef obviously seen better days seeing how half the place got turned into storage but the place is kept clean even the restrooms. The only weird thing about the decor of the place is their wall full of framed authographed pictures of body builders. All in all better than average casual...

i found a hair in my food.

the next time i went in i told them and she had an attitude and didn't do anything. when i asked to speak to the manager she took my number, but no one ever called.

i went in again and asked what happened, she said she had spoken to the manager, who apparently is not there ever, and that they had said that they know me and i always cause problems. so i asked how did the manager even know who i was? she said your the only customer who orders orange flavor chicken. highly unlikely... especially since i hadn't been there in years... needless to say it simply wasn't true and i had never complained about anything.
