Aimee, Was such a Treat for two travelers from Lancaster, We Loved everything about this place, I’m a chef and not one thing was out of place Here, everything was so delicious, if you’re like us and on the Erie Canal Adventures boats and have one place to stop, choose Here! You have to ask for Aimee the server / Owner, she will make your visit so special, She did ours with the very best recommendations, The Buffalo chicken salad was spectacular, The Cheese sauce (mornay) was unbelievable, the tots were the best bargain for what seemed like the hundreds you got! Ask for them with the cheese sauce you can’t go wrong! The wings looked like Turkey legs, the Burgers appeared perfectly seared, large sizes all around, This will be one of those places that we won’t soon forget and will measure every other pub style Faire by, They set the bar unbelievably high, Such a Gorgeous memory of this place will always remain in my Heart because of the kind Service, phenomenal food, and awesome atmosphere out on the patio, Loved it! Loved it! Loved it! Thank you again Aimee, for making our Visit Something we won’t soon forget, You’re exactly the best kind of steward the restaurant business needs and so seldom finds, not to mention community Ambassador right in Your centrally located spot for a community like Fairport, Who won’t be forgotten, because of the special people like you and your husband who’ve dedicated their lives and time to a place & public like this who I hope keeps you successfully in business for a very, very long time, because Not only are You doing something special every single day for the people who remain Here, but also for the people like myself who because of you and your Restaurant, can’t wait to come back! I’ll be remembering Donnelly’s Fondly in my Heart for a very long time, until I can see ya’ll again which will never be soon enough!

Read moreI'm in Rochester and business and asked a couple of people for a recommendation for dinner. A few people said I had to try Donnelly's so I stopped in with a colleague for an early dinner tonight. We were seated quickly, and received our drink orders right away. We started with Buffalo pierogies which we ordered medium hot. The filling of seasoned, shredded chicken was tasty but I would say they were more medium than medium hot. From a temperature standpoint I like my food very hot and these were barely warm at best. The blue cheese dressing they were served with tasted bottled. I asked the waitress what she recommended and she said the French dip so I gave it a try. I'm used to French bread that has a crust with a bit of crunch and a nice chew to it. The roll the meat was served on was much softer than that and got soggy when dipped into the au jus. The meat was under seasoned as was the au jus. I never add salt to my food and I had to add salt to this sandwich for it to have much flavor at all. On the second half of my sandwich I ditched the roll completely and just ate the meat by itself which was actually a much better choice. Onion rings that came as my side were also not very hot - temperature wise. I was hoping for a fresh beer batter dipped onion ring but I'm pretty sure that these were Frozen. All in all I would say the food was average at best. Maybe if we had started with a few beers the food would have tasted better! Service...
Read moreFood was great! Our waiter (not sure of his name but was wearing a bright green polo) came right up after we were sat with two glasses of water and said he would be right with us. Then he came over awhile later and asked us what we wanted for dinner (did not ask for our drink order).. I would have ordered my drink there but figured he would come around shortly to check in and I could order then. HE DID NOT CHECK IN AT ALL, THE ENTIRE TIME WE WERE THERE. I had to order my drink when the food came out (a different server wearing a black polo) he kindly asked if there was anything else and I told him the soda. he comes back very quickly with the drink. Then we realize we had NO Napkins or silverware. I had to ask a waitress walking by for napkins, she was very pleasant and nice. Then we sat for 15 minutes after we were clearly done eating, before the green polo shirt waiter came back. Meanwhile, I heard him ask other tables if everything was good, need anything else, etc. Then he proceeded to stand in the corner talking with the other waiter watching the game before coming over to have us pay and give us a box. I understand the pandemic has effected multiple things, short staffing, so on.. I'm not complaining about the wait, I just wanted a little more service...
