Subway — Restaurant in Town of Plattsburgh

Decided to plan my shopping trip to Walmart at Consumer Square and thought I’d stop in at Subway; located inside the Walmart store. It wasn’t busy and there were no other customers in the restaurant. I patiently waited for service; which was an unanticipated over five minute wait!!

I could hear music blaring and someone in the back of the restaurant working, so, I continued to wait! At least ten minutes went by and FINALLY an employee emerged from the back. A young Spanish girl came to the counter, facial expression seemed to deem her annoyance that she had a customer to wait on. She didn’t offer a friendly hello so I began the conversation with a hello and told her the kind of sandwich I’d like. She apparently didn’t hear me so I repeated myself and once more she asked me what I wanted? After telling her twice I made sure she could hear me the third time around. She grabbed the bread from the oven wearing NO gloves and began to make my sandwich. I requested that she put gloves on. She made the sandwich and walked to the register and began to start the transaction before I could tell her I’d like a drink and chips. So because of that I just let it be and proceeded to pay for my sandwich. The lobby/seating area was quite dirty, straw papers, dried up soda spills on a few tables and chairs pulled out so I decided to just leave and go forth with my shopping in Walmart and eat at home. Not a happy customer as far as the overall service and her overall attitude and troubled look she gave off. I decided to make a stop into the Subway located in Plattsburgh Walmart. I walked in and noticed the counters were dirty with food crumbs on the tables and napkins on the ground. I approached the counter with my child in the cart and heard loud blaring music and by my ears it was not suitable music for a public work environment. The music was rap and I could hear the provocative music going on. I stood at the counter for more than 10 minutes.. there should be someone at the counter all times while someone is working in the back so people aren’t waiting to be helped. If they didn’t have their unsuitable music blaring they would have heard me ask “excuse me”. The music was so loud you could hear it from sitting away. I find that your young associates are lacking their skills of helping YOUR customers. The music is distracting if I have to wait in line for more than 10 minutes!!!! And as I went to the water fountain to get my drink the ground was sticky from spilt soda. The worst part is I went to sit in one of the booths with the chairs u can pull out to sit down in was STICKY! I quickly got up and went to sit in another booth. The service here is terrible I’ll find another subway to go where the place isn’t dirty and the service is much better never again will I come here to...

I haven't gone to a Subway in a while because of the high price for just a basic sub. Today decided I'll give it a try again. And Subway is off my list for life, this particular location, was a horrible experience. First I wondered why their meat section was blocked off from customer view by a aluminum sarcophagus. That was because they were putting very little very thin slices of meat on the subs. A foot long sub had barely enough ham to make half a ham sandwich. The preparer then overloaded the sub with iceberg lettuce and very little dressing. Basically it was a gross dry iceberg lettuce sandwich. IT WAS ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING AND MOST OF IT WENT IN THE GARBAGE! $28.59 for three sub par sandwiches is criminal. If you're even considering going there. Just don't. Go buy your own rolls, meat and veggies. Make your own. You'll be much happier and stretch your money further. Subway is...
