I went to BWW @ 10:15pm, June 15th, 2015 to watch the last period of the stanley cup playoffs game #6 when before going in about 8-10 NY state troopers in civilian clothes piled out of a van going in to BWW...so I opened the door for them since I was going in too.... they sat at the bar on one side, I on another...the bar section had about 20 people present. The manager 'Daryle' 'rolled' his eyes, no smile, no hello, so I keep it simple and just ordered a beer. Meanwhile I was observing the bartender 'Amanda' with the same attitude going over to the state troopers. The people next to me observed the same thing. No smile from her...all what they both said was we close sharp at 11pm. I have worked in retail in NYC and in the service industry for over 30 years...and know that when someone sets foot into an establishment they should be served with politeness and employees with smiles on their faces. They should not be in the industry nor should both mentioned above be working in serving the customer if they do not like their job....and frankly I don't think they do. If I was head office I would fire and hire better management and servers/bartenders. I will NOT be returning to BWW for not just this bad experience...but all the other times when I went to see a NY Rangers hockey game but did not feel appreciated...in paying for food/beverage. (I have all the dates since I kept...
Read moreMy wife and I have been eyeballing this place for the last few years on our trips to Plattsburgh. We always end up going somewhere else. Well, not this time, and we were very pleased. I had the Cheese Curd Bacon Burger and my wife had the Bayou Po'Boy. The sandwiches were freaking huge!
My burger was so juicy, I had to go through a ton of napkins! The vegetables (tomato, lettuce and pickles) were fresh and properly crunchy, the meat was juicy and well seasoned, the cheese curds were a clever way to add more cheese than just the single slice on the patty, the bun was toasted beautifully, and the sauce was nice and spicy, but not overly so. My wife does not handle spicy food that well, and it was ok for her.
My wife's Po'Boy was huge! Nice crispy lettuce, fresh tomato with battered shrimps on a toasted bun with a spicy mayo. The whole thing just went together. Mind you I am no expert on Po'Boy, but it was a good sandwich. The side of fries was not too big. I would definitely order again.
My parents will be coming in June from the west coast, and will be staying in Plattsburgh on the front side of their trip and again at the end. I know of another place they would like to go at the front side, but I am really going to push for this at the end of their trip. If not, the wife and I come down from Canada every six months or so, and this will definitely be on the to do...
Read moreMy girlfriend ordered 6 salt & vinegar wings with fries last night (2/21/24) from here via DoorDash and then immediately called the restaurant to let them know that they need to be gluten-free because she has a severe gluten intolerance. She has done this countless times without any issue. However, this time, it took them close to 10 minutes for her to reach someone at the restaurant who told her that the wings were "probably already made" and that he would "find out".
Well, I don't know what happened after that because nobody ever contacted her to let her know, and the food arrived with no indication if they were gluten-free or not. She called the restaurant again to ask and nobody answered.
She was super hungry so she decided to just try one and ended up with a skin rash on her mouth and abdominal pain, followed my nausea for the rest of the night. I felt so bad, and neither of us thought her reaction would be so severe even if they weren't gluten-free.
Seriously though, if the wings were actually already made, you guys couldn't redo SIX WINGS? Gluten intolerance isn't something to take lightly and I'm super upset that the guy she spoke to didn't care enough to honor her request or at the very least, make some sort of indication that they were/were not gluten-free somewhere on the order. At least she would've known not...
