The Great: All of the desk clerks and others working in the hotel are super friendly and so helpful in every and any way. Super people: Hang onto them!!!||The Good: A nice hotel, clean, quiet rooms and easy to eateries and places of interest in town. Great breakfast, scrambled eggs, bacon or link sausage, home fries or hash browns. Water, orange juice, cranberry juice; also waffles, pancakes, cereals, etc.||The Middle: Lit only by table lamps, no overhead lighting; no grab bars for the tub/shower combo; kleenex is hidden in a black cover, on a black end table, in the back corner instead of in the bathroom ... took me three days to find it in the dark. The commode flushes fine for liquid ... for solids, it takes sometimes more than 6 flushes. I asked about it and a fella came up and plunged it, but that made no difference. My take is that the toilet tank does not have enough water to complete a full, decent flush. And no, it is not a tp problem, I don't use it: I use a travel bidet.||The Bad: The so-called medium coffee is just Starbucks sludge: 1/4-cup half-and-half, 3 sugars and it still was not drinkable||The Ugliest: I travel with a laptop, and have been through the southwest, Rockies, and central and southern plains and have NEVER had any problem logging into the motel wi-fi. ||In fact, I had this exact same computer at a Best Western Plus in Ames, Iowa in May of this year and had zero problems. Same with my previous laptop, and both the old and new are configured the EXACT same way. ||Not here! Connecting to wifi, it would not let me enter the pass code and thus connect. The first day the young desk clerk, Genevieve, was very helpful and after half-an-hour or so, she got me connected.||Originally planning to check out the next Tuesday, the day before I extended my stay for another week. When I went to log in that Tuesday afternoon, no love. Sam and Stephanie at the front desk both worked on it for close to 90-minutes and still could not get it to work. Then they checked my "stupid" phone and found out it had a hot spot, so I connected that way. But blew through my allotment of high-speed capacity in an hour or so.||Then on Wednesday, leaving the motel, I told the desk clerk of my frustrations, which were getting very close to aggravations, and asked her to work on it while I was out and about. I came back and Grace had gotten me squared away, and it's been working ever since.||On this trip I've been told it's my use of Firefox, my VPN, my windows firewall and other nonsense ... but in the end when they figure something out it works with all of those things. ||Since I've not traveled East in 7-years, I don't know if there is something idiotic going on East of the Mississippi or what. I had similar experiences at two other motel chains on this trip, when no BWP was available.||Very inconvenient and damned near...
Read moreWe stay here every time we visit the area. The main draw is the pool, as we have a young child who very much enjoys it. The pool was a little on the chilly side for what I would expect from an indoor pool but it was no big deal. We still had fun. The pool and pool area are clean, and towels are always stocked if you don't pack your own beach towels. There are tables and chairs as well as lounge chairs in the pool area. A great place to bring a book and sit by the pool. There are some arcade games and air hockey table in the pool area but cannnot speak to those as we did not use them. The staff is A++ from the front desk, to housekeeping, breakfast staff, maintenance, everyone. Every employee we passed in the hallway greeted us with a smile and a friendly hello. Our room had everything we needed. Fridge and microwave were in good working order and we used both without issue. Lots of channels available on TV. It was a nice big modern TV with HDMI hookup so we were even able to connect our Nintendo Switch to the TV to play in the room during some downtime. Pillows left a lot to be desired, to be honest, and the mattresses were not super comfy. We've always stayed in a queen or king room before and this was our first full-size bed stay. Not sure if that's the difference but we were grateful for our bed and pillows when we got home. One random annoying thing is that there's no place to hang a hand towel in the bathroom which isn't very practical, especially with young kids. There is a washer and dryer available for $1.00 each (quarters only) so bring some quarters if you want to use them. What a great perk - I never expect to have laundry available at a hotel! Breakfast has a good variety of items - scrambled eggs, bacon/sausage, home fries, hot oatmeal, yogurt, toppings, cereals, hard-boiled eggs, bagels, English muffins, toast, danish, muffins, and waffle makers. Something for everyone. Water and juice dispensers are available, along with Seattle's Best coffee which was delicious and piping hot. Really no complaints about breakfast at all. Gloves and hand sanitizer are available. Tables are always wiped down and everything is restocked often. I really liked seeing all the guests just enjoying themselves socializing at breakfast and enjoying the outdoor spaces. There is an outdoor area with tables and chairs accessible through the pool area. Saw people out there playing cards and just enjoying themselves. There are also tables and chairs near the front entrance along with a nice little fountain that was very peaceful to sit by while chatting with friends. It's more than just a place to sleep. It's a great place to just spend time. Will return again. Staff was the most memorable part of this most recent stay for us. Everyone...
Read moreWe stay here for 4 days. During Covid your room will not be service to help keep the staff safe. This was not a bad experience. It was ok. We came here on our family vacation. We liked being able to go to the pool multiple times throughout the day. We liked that this hotel is situated in an area that is close to everything. The Continental Breakfast is not tasty. The arcade is of retro games not too bad. The Landry Facility is not the best. It's a bit dated and the machines do not wash your clothes well nor does the dryer dry well. The rooms keep a bit of humidity so the carpet feels a little damp. The one room we had had a faint cigarette smell and the second room smell a little stale. The bathrooms are ok. What I can say are that the staff that work here are very helpful and kind. They did keep up all of the general areas of the hotel. I guess where our two rooms were located were a part of the hotel that was a bit dated because when you go towards the front the rooms closest to the lobby are updated as well as the lobby. This is the part of the hotel they have more pictures of on their site. We didn't stay much in our rooms and explored the area as well as traveled out to VT and back. We loved the area of plattsburgh. It is definitely a hidden gem. Everyone is very nice and honest ( the people we experienced) We really loved the excellent service of Jessica ( I guess there's two lol so the Jessica that is a bit on the shorter side in height 😊) She is definitely an outstanding individual. Thank you so much! The rooms we stayed in had the typical microwave small fridge, and a coffee maker that no one has used in forever lol 😆 Overall we liked our stay and for the time we decided to go on a mini vacation this place was the only place with decent prices and in a good location. ( ps the hotel cannot help the types of guest they have but my goodness there were two groups of guests on different days that was terribly loud and constantly came in and out of their room literally from 9pm until 3am. I thought I was back at my apartment for a moment lol 😂 I would still recommend this place especially during a...
