Ordered on Ubereats the "Italian sub" for myself and the "Tavern Turkey Sandwich" for a friend. The food arrives well packed and on time, no complaints, and the sub was a decent size for the price so I gave them an automatic average review, because it seemed like the average for what I paid (less than $8 each for 2 large sandwiches). This was a huge mistake...
As my friend lifts his sandwich, half the slice of bread from the bottom hits the deli paper with a soggy flopping sound. And it was apparently bland.
Then the sub, oh god the sub.
FIRST: it is illegal to advertise food items on your menu and then not provide those items upon payment. It's a subject known as truth in menus law and it is punishable with fines and possible jail time. The Italian Sub was advertised to have BOTH Cappocolo Salami AND Genoa Salami, it had only Genoa. And it claimed to be served with roasted peppers, there were none. I hope the restaurant recognizes this soon.
SECOND: It is up to the restaurant to provide safe, ready-to-eat food. If there is any issue with the safety of the food, it is the restaurant that is held liable. Despite this fact, Campus Deli carelessly allowed a piece of sharp plastic to sneak it's way into my sandwich. I bit into it, and thankfully noticed it in time. It was small enough to swallow, and sharp enough to cut up my throat without a doubt.
I am currently waiting for a refund from Uber/Campus Deli
I just hope the owner will read this and understand the importance of employee food-safety training. It can save you a lot of money, and potentially save someone from injury or in some cases death.
You don't want that on...
Read moreI think they are pricey, they charged me $7.25 for a hero sub plus .50 cents for cheese, when all I asked for was salami and cheese, no additional toppings. I could understand if I asked for lettuce, tomato or other things. not even mayo! Then the cook took over 15 minutes to make the sub (I was the only customer in the store and no pending orders) and didn't really understand what the clerk was asking her to make...so inconvenient. They proceeded to tell another customer after me to return because the grill wasn't hot and wasn't sure how long it would take to heat up. so unprofessional. In addition to charging me the .50 cents for cheese she only put a whopping 3 slices, when I asked if she can add another piece she replied "oh yes she'll add more for you" and never did. so basically they charge $7.25 for bread and...
Read moreI’ve been coming here since I was in the womb. Literally. My mom came here, then I did as a child and I still do. It used to be owned by a Caribbean family. The father gave me free candy and subs sometimes. Most humble man I met as a kid.
The Philly Cheese Steaks though... ARE THE BEST YOU WILL EVER HAVE!!!!!
It’s like any Philly Cheese but the family who opened this place had a cook that created a sauce that they’ve passed down to the new owners (not my mom and I who begged for over a decade) that is beyond amazing. Changes the whole thing. Bursts with flavor. You’ll love it!
Also, the place has been renovated since the new ownership. Not...
