WARNING ALL BRIDES: DO NOT BOOK! I had been in contact with Joanna for 3 months trying to pay the deposit to ensure that my day was saved (us brides like to check those boxes, am I right?). After months of back and forth, I decided to schedule two days to speak with Joanna that she picked and suggested, but I wasn't able to get a hold of her for both days. I called again and left a message expressing concern, which angered Joanna. She called me back the next day at 6AM, threatening to cancel on me because she didn't like that I didn't consider that she was busy. My fiance got on the phone and tried to find a solution, since she was meeting me with so much attitude. He expressed that he would like to pay the deposit but mentioned not feeling comfortable paying via check through the mail and opted to pay over the phone, to which Joanna gave us attitude for not knowing that we could pay with any employee, not just her (information she should've relayed to her staff, not to unknowing customers). My recent appoint on 5/3/2024 was a semi-disappointment. booked for a full head of highlights and haircut. was not started till about 30 mins after my booked appointment time (no apology or explanation i get things come up but a phone call wouldve been nice). i had graduation pictures planned afterwards. so i decided to not get a haircut due to timing. Let my hair develop for 20 mins with the bleach on without going under the dryer (I always get put under the dryer) so the back of my head barley looks like it was touched. Overall liked my hair from the front after it was blown out but was charged $270 ($280 since i paid with my debit card-- i am aware that there is a card tax). To add, I went on December 4th 2023 for the same thing (full head and haircut) and paid $220. Not sure how to explain that -- I understand inflation but that much is kinda crazy. So full head of highlights (that did not match the front) is extremely overpriced. Keep in mind i have short to medium length fine hair so its not like it is challenging to work on. I chose Luxe Salon & Spa because their prices were reasonable for college students like myself. I no longer live in the area, but I had an excellent experience here the handful of times that I went. First off, I love that they do special offers for new customers' first 3 visits. It's a very nice welcome gift and definitely kept me coming back. While the place is small, it also makes the experience personal and individualized. I was always offered a drink if I was in the waiting area upon my arrival. I didn't ever book a hair service here, but I did have nail and spa services done because of their great offers I received via email. Their esthetician, Melissa, is wonderful. Not only is she very friendly, but she is also knowledgeable and helpful. She gave me really great advice with regard to my skincare. Deanna, their nail technician, is sweet and remembered details from our prior conversations. The place is kept clean and the staff is very friendly. Overall, I would certainly recommend Luxe...
