If I could give this restaurant zero stars I would. Our family didn’t get to try their food because we never got in. It is HIGHLY unacceptable that they would deny entrance to my father, a disabled Army Veteran, and his service dog. The multiple injuries my father sustained during combat wasn’t enough for them, unfortunately he needed to be blinded as well to be allowed into their establishment. It is saddening and quite frankly DISGUSTING. I have never seen an establishment discriminate against service dogs stating only seeing eye dogs are allowed.
So upsetting and embarrassing do better!!!!
UPDATE** Since you cannot reply to reviews I figured I’d do it here. My dad has a LICENSED service dog with a vest and tags to accompany him. We were shut down at the door saying only seeing eye dogs allowed DESPITE being told he is a veteran’s service dog. That should not be questioned. Your hostess clearly said if our dog isn’t accompanying a blind person he cannot come in, no exceptions after being told MULTIPLE time he is a service dog. A discount means nothing when you embarrass a wounded veteran on Fourth of July weekend.
There was no misunderstanding and no room for you to argue. It is simply bad business. Bragging a discount to Vets to prove support is bad business as well. What you did is illegal and immoral.
We told the hostess that denying a service animal is illegal and she smirked and said “No, it’s not. It’s up to the establishments owner.” However, it is illegal and they should be aware or this before they turn people away as it could result in legal action and fines.
According to the U.S department of Justice:
Under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), privately owned businesses that serve the public, such as restaurants, hotels, retail stores, taxicabs, theaters, concert halls, and sports facilities, are prohibited from discriminating against individuals with disabilities. The ADA requires these businesses to allow people with disabilities to bring their service animals onto business premises in whatever areas customers are generally allowed.
Furthermore, “any building manager/owner that denies access to a service animal and their handler is liable to a fine, and potential imprisonment. Violation of the established equal access rights can lead to prosecution in a...

Read moreWe were going to a favorite breakfast place but it was closed for a graduation event. Our next favorite place was too busy - no parking. Third time - Ambrosia - is the charm!
We went to Ambrosia and everyone in our party of four said it was the best breakfast ever! Our hostess smiled warmly and we felt so welcome. The mood of our dining experience started off great with our server, Amber. She was such a hoot! She kept us laughing but moved quickly among her tables. She had the perfect balance in keeping all her tables happy, fed and well taken care of. Most excellent person!
Mom had French toast, over easy egg and crispy bacon. Short stack French toast was a thick slice of artisan bread that included vanilla - fluffy and delicious. Dad had the biscuit and gravy. Holy cow if you order this be ready for the gravy train - so much rich sausage gravy. He also had a side of corned beef hash. He had to get a take home box. My man got the country breakfast that included eggs and sausage and gravy and home fries. He ate every bite. I sopped up some of his gravy with my toast and questioned my choice because that gravy was deeeeelicious. He also got a small orange juice. I got two over medium eggs with corned beef hash. It included toast and home fries. The portions were generous - I needed a take home box too. It was all so yummy - every bite was what you want for breakfast. We all shared tiny bites of our breakfast with each other and enjoyed it all. We all got coffee served in the typical diner coffee mugs that help to keep your coffee hot. This experience is what a happy diner meal with good company should be. We left like we had a meal - fat, full and happy!
If you haven’t been - give Ambrosia a try. Ask for Amber!
BTY - We didn’t have room for dessert but it should be illegal to show off their desserts in the cases. They looked so beautiful and so tempting! They make them from scratch right there! Usually everything is ordered from a distributor and it’s the same thing in every restaurant - not at Ambrosia. We must have stared for five minutes. We are coming back for just dessert and coffee. Amber - we’ll be looking...
