Extremely disheartening experience at this Texas Roadhouse. As a regular who has grown to love and appreciate the atmosphere, I can confidently say I did not expect the discrimination that I witnessed today. I truly am a fan of Texas Roadhouse so I was completely astonished.
I suffer from severe pork-induced anaphylaxis. This means that if I eat any pork product my throat will close, I’ll break out in hives, and I (quite-literally) will die within an hour without my epi-pen. It’s serious but restaurants are more than happy to be cautious so it doesn’t hinder my quality of living- Texas Roadhouse included.
Our server made a mistake and brought our table baked potatoes instead of mashed, however baked potatoes are cooked in bacon grease and they risk cross contamination with my food. She also noted this in our order. It was 6 wrong orders of potatoes so naturally the table was filled with my allergen. It really was not a big deal and it was an easy mistake to fix. It was just a wrong order that could be fixed and we would have happily waited. We aren’t a rude bunch at all.
The error and disrespect happened when Stacey, service manager, came to our table. She was accusing, loud, and rude. Tables around us were made aware of my medical condition just from her volume and tone and it is something I don’t share out of privacy. I think she thought I was lying and tried to rebuttal with me comparing her to her own allergies. Stacey, my anaphylaxis is not the same as your season and gluten allergies and I have a right to be embarrassed. Invalidation did not help at all. I informed her that it was humiliating that she caused a scene and I would like a box to leave. A fair request because I was mortified. She apologized, only after saying “you got the wrong order- but are you allergic?” to every wrong order at the table. Cross contamination must not have been a graspable concept and my medical condition should not have been questioned in the first place. Stacey was also not going to give us the food we had originally ordered, just send us on our way without our sides entirely.
In the end, we boxed our food after Stacey going back and forth with us (again, why do I need to explain my medical condition over something as minuscule as potatoes?), received our incorrect sides and went on our way. We paid the whole $150 dollar bill and got a free $7 appetizer on our next visit. I left this because I will not be retuning to a place that treats humans as poorly as this manager did. My safety was jeopardized tonight and I was ridiculed.
Perhaps the seriousness of my allergy would have been taken into consideration and not ridiculed had I just came into...
Read moreEx and I dined at this Texas Roadhouse location for the first time over the weekend. The parking lot was mobbed, it took a few minutes to find a place to park an oversized truck. We were skeptical that we would even get a seat with the lot so full. We walked in about 4:30 and were seated right away in a nice booth. I think it was Elliott who waited on us and he came over as soon as we sat down. He was friendly and professional. He took our drink order while we looked over the menu. I prefer Salmon/seafood (not fried) and my ex prefers large Steaks. Since the Red Lobster I’ve been eating at 50 years closed recently, it’s hard to find a nice place in my area to eat at that satisfies both of us. He ordered the 20 ounce Ribeye with Baked Potato & Applesauce and ate everything. He said the Ribeye had more fat on it compared to when he eats it at the Colonie location. Next time he’s going to order the 23 ounce Porterhouse Steak. He ate 3 of the 4 rolls with the (honey?) butter and liked them. I didn’t try either. I ordered the 8 ounce grilled Salmon with Mashed Potatoes & Corn for my 2 sides. I couldn’t believe how delicious the Salmon was!! Since RL closed, this is my new favorite Salmon dish that I will be ordering for takeout several times a month!! I was so pleasantly surprised!! The mashed potatoes and corn were also very tasty!! This meal portion is enough for 2 meals for me. I’m having my leftovers tonight. 😁 When we ordered our meals, they came out ready & hot within 15 minutes. The bar at this location is smaller than the Colonie one, and was filled up. The restaurant was very noisy due to the amount of people inside. When we were leaving there was standing room only, a long waiting list, and people outside walking around waiting for a seat. We saw a few people walking up to the (outdoor) Takeout counter getting their food to go. When we left the parking lot there were cars parked in the car-side to go spots waiting on their food to be brought out to them. Both of these are very convenient options!! I already loaded the Texas Roadhouse App onto my cell and signed up as a VIP. You can get on the waitlist when you’re on the way to dine in. You can place an order for pickup as well from the App. Today, I received an email for a free appetizer to use when dining in or getting takeout. We will definitely be back to this location!! Awesome job, Queensbury Texas Roadhouse!! 👍👏🙌 See you...
Read moreThe food was good, the staff were very friendly(even though it was extremely crowded! And the place was overall a good experience! A friend and I went out and brought her kids along with us, and for a Sunday night it was crazy! Even with a reservation we waited an extra 10 minutes(The inner lobby was packed!) we finally sat in an area, it may have been for kids? But it was really nice. The waitress came over quickly and we didn’t feel rushed at all! She was still very friendly to the kids, even though they had a tough time deciding, all the staff were so nice and friendly even though it was so packed out! I can’t say enough how impressed I was! So we ordered and the food came out fast thankfully, kids…And overall it was good, we did the 2 person dinner option with the sides, and the kids got things off the kids menu. The meats were cooked perfectly, my only complaints are the side of broccoli was undercooked, and we ordered smothered onions but it came without, luckily the waitress removed it after she noticed also, as well as the pay tablet on the table…apparently there’s a 2$ charge to play the games on it? He swears he never saw the option for a charge, but just that it was a “premium” section for the games…Be careful. But overall: fantastic experience! Thanks Texas Roadhouse staff for a fun family and...
