Martha's Dandee Creme — Restaurant in Town of Queensbury

I can see why this place is so popular! With the array of ice cream flavors and menu item options, my boyfriend and I were thoroughly impressed. This ice cream shop is located conveniently near Six Flags Great Escape and several different hotels (a nice strategic location for a business). You can tell the crowds going there are coming in from the park, and make no mistake this shop has earned it's reputation so it attracts a ton of tourism like the amusement park near it. It's not uncommon to see impressively long lines in front of it, but it's a long building and they have multiple windows usually open during those busy times so the lines go down quick enough. So far it looks like majority of their ice cream is soft-served, and they have over 30 flavors but they rotate on schedule depending on the weekdays so pay attention to the schedule before going here (you can find it online on their website). I only say this because the first day we went there (Thursday) none of the custom flavors they had appealed to me, so I just ended up getting vanilla as a base for my sundae. Friday however had better flavors available. They always have vanilla and chocolate. Their sizes here for their cones are gargantuan, to the point of being ridiculous which is why I'm not giving this place 5 stars. Their large is too big, to the point where the cones they use aren't strong enough to hold such a massive amount of ice cream unless you can miraculously eat it all in less than 5 minutes otherwise you may potentially have a colossal mess on your hands - literally; which pretty much happened to my boyfriend the second day when he got a medium cotton-candy. Medium should actually be large. I also think that the topping and ice cream options for the sundaes are too limited. You get one flavor, one topping, and choice of having any of raspberry, nuts, and/ or whip cream with a cherry. The employees there are friendly though and the service is fast. If you're ever in the area give this place a shot the ice cream is delicious. And for the crazy portions the relatively low prices can't be beat. I have always been extremely impressed with both the quality and especially the portion sizes at Martha's, as we try to come here a handful of times during the summer. In the past I've always gotten a medium ice cream in a dish, And the serving size has been impressive to say the least. I got one of their sundaes for the first time ever, and was actually disappointed by how average the portion size was, especially considering it was several dollars more than their medium ice cream!

Two small sundaes was nearly $18.50, and they were no bigger than my local ice cream stand that sells their small Sunday for $4! (Shout out Uncle Sankies!!!)

I will still always recommend Martha's to friends who are traveling through Lake George, but would only recommend getting their ice cream in a dish/ cone, as their sundaes are significantly overpriced in comparison! Either the portion needs to be increased, or the price needs to be lowered significantly.

I included a picture of the local ice cream stand I was referring to, where their Sundaes are literally less than half of the price to what I paid at Martha's, and are identical size was! I am also including a picture of Martha's medium ice cream in a dish to show that you receive well over 2x the amount of ice cream for several dollars less then their sundaes

AUGUST 2025 UPDATE I went here again at the end of the season and simply got a medium cone and a medium Ice cream in a dish, And the portions were as impressive as I remember! The peanut butter ice cream here is as good as you are going to get anywhere in the country, and the blue moon with fruity pebbles is fantastic as well!

I still stand by my former statement that they are overcharging for their Sundaes, but this is still one of the best ice cream stands you are going to find...
