Kosher Castle — Restaurant in Town of Ramapo

I'm pretty surprised this place has so many good reviews to be honest lol The very first time I went there, I went with a friend. We were starving and leaving the Amazing Savings which is right next to it. The restaurant seemed to have a lot of people inside so we figured the food must be good. I forgot what we ordered as this was about 2 years ago but the food was actually pretty good until I discovered HAIR in my food. I threw the rest of it out and didn't make a big deal out of it as I understand accidents happen and I didn't want to make a scene in front of all the other customers. As you can imagine, I left pretty upset and disgusted. A few months later my mom, her friend, and I went to pick a few things up from Amazing Savings again. We were all pretty hungry and in the mood for a shawarma lol I told my mom I've been there once before with my friend and the food was actually pretty good but there was one piece of hair in it. I also told her that there always seems to be a lot of people there so the incident that happened to me must've been an usual accident. We decided to give them the benefit of the doubt and another chance. We ordered 3 shawarma sandwiches over the phone and waited in the car until they're ready to get picked up. WHAT A MISTAKE!!!!! To start, when I walked in to pick up my order, the guy practically threw the bag of food at me and was very rude. I returned to the car where we ate and it gets worse. There was several hairs in my moms sandwich and not one but TWO NAILS! Perfectly cut nails. I have never experienced anything like this anywhere else before! It literally looked as if someone cut one of their toe and one of their finger nails and placed them into my sandwich. I have never been more disgusted in my life. I wish I was a confrontational person and not afraid to stand up for myself because I should've went back inside and made a scene but I was already afraid of the man at the front desk after he rudely threw the bag of food at me. instead, I cried on my way home and for the remainder of the evening as I couldn't get the thought of that nail in my mouth out of my head. This food was pretty average to sub par, not the greatest quality and the taste very "7-11", like something you would get in a convienence store.

The woman who took the order was nice enough, but neglected to seal the bags, and several items were missing.

The orange beef was very ugly to look at, and strange round balls rather than quality cuts of meat and no one ate more than one or two pieces and about 90% of it was left over and went to the dogs.

The fried dumplings which are usually a favorite of mine, were just eh'.

The fried chicken was the only thing that was devoured, it was really good, everyone liked it but the fries and onion rings on the side were not even good either. Even the fried rice was just eh.

The fried chicken got a 7 out of 10 from us but everything else, literally everything, got between a 2 and a 4. Just tasted like poor quality cheap food. Sorry but have to be honest, i wouldn't recommend them unless you just go for the buckets of chicken, but get your fries elsewhere...My kids are only 8 and it says a lot when little kids won't...

Fast food, plenty of food does not make up for its quality. I personally had their fried fish and chips (which was a special.) The fish was definitely not cook fresh. It had an oily taste similar to frozen fish fried in dirty oil. I also had the fried onion rings. Same here, the rings were over cooked, just short of burning them. Someone else in my party had a corn beef deli sandwich, The portion was about a 1/4 pound sliced very thin and dried out. Extra french fries were ordered, soft, soggy and tasted of dirty oil.

While the place was reasonably clean, there was no soap in the men,s room and no paper towels in the ladies room. I did observe, something that should never be done. The food trays were casually emptied, wipe off, a new place mat in place and ready for the next customer.... I wonder when this place will spread the...
