My wife and I wanted to try a different Indian restaurant and decided on Cinnamon. We decided to go with South Indian flavors, and the starter and entrées were terrific. For the starter, we had the Andhra chili chicken and loved it. The flavor was in between Indian and Canton and the vegetables were al dente. Our entrées were the Goan Fish curry and Andhra chicken, both of which were worth ordering again. They were served with rice bowls, which the server claimed were basmati but definitely didn't look basmati to us. Nevertheless, we enjoyed the rice with fried onions and had it with the goan fish curry. We had also ordered a garlic Naan, a tawa paratha and a chapati. Yes, yes, too much food but we were experimenting. The breads could have been better, they were thick and, I felt, could have been cooked a little more. That said, this is a personal opinion. The dessert we ordered was a gulab jamun and I can't recommend it. Was weird. The vanilla ice cream it was served with was good, so I can recommend the ice cream I felt that the service could have better. It was slow. There were two servers, but the restaurant wasn't packed. We asked our server to find out about the garnish on the starter and he never got back to us. He also promised to find out about the rice and again never got back to us. If visiting on Sunday for lunch, please note that municipal parking lot has a farmers market from 10am to 2pm. We will definitely give this restaurant another visit.

First time at Cinnamon and we were not disappointed. Our server Cyril (If I remember correctly). sat us down and warmly welcomed us. While we are not vegetarians, we decided to order only non-meat dishes. My wife started with masala chai. She said it was the best she had ever had. It was fragrant and creamy. Our food order was Palak Chaat-crispy spinach with spices, chutney and yogurt. This was the most unusual Indian cuisine offering we ever had, but so delicious. Next up was Bagara Baigan-baby whole eggplants with tamarind sauce, ginger, garlic and curry leaves. How could you go wrong with these flavors. It was exquisite! We also ordered both coconut and lemon rice. I could have made a meal just from these two dishes. Cinnamon is a step above most Indian cuisine we've ever had. The service was attentive, but not intrusive and very relaxing. We will return to Cinnamon again when we return to Rhinebeck.

We've visited this restaurant multiple times, and I'm pleased to note significant improvements since our last visit. Previously, the food arrived cold, but this time it was served warm and full of flavor. The service was prompt, with our order reaching the table within 15-20 minutes. We began with the samosas paired with green chutney, which were delightful. For the main course, we chose the Murgh Shahi Korma, which could have been spicier, (So if you like spicy, I would not recommend this dish) and the Bhindi Masala, accompanied by naan. Dessert featured garam halwa with an ice cream topping, complemented by chai. The servers were friendly and attentive, enhancing our overall experience. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone in the area.

We made reservations for our wedding dinner back in August directly with owner who promised a specific table downstairs that she offered in the front widow. She said there would flowers on the table and they would make it very special. We called to follow up and she confirmed our reservation and assured everything would be in order. When we arrived we were told the table was not ready and they were finishing up, when in fact we saw that they had not even received their food. They told us it would be 15 minutes and one hour later we were still standing outside all the while never once offered another table. We then found out there was a table upstairs that we were never offered. In total we waited one hour and 15 minutes outside before we were seated. We tried calling other restaurants that could not by that time have accommodated a table of 6. After sometime she came upstairs and barely eked out a half-hearted apology. She said the chefs were waiting for our orders and yet we waited a half hour for our appetizers and even our drink order took forever. We also waited endlessly for our dinner. She disappeared for the rest of the evening and her apathy was was extremely pronounced and felt by our group. This was such a beautiful and happy day and we felt badly that it was blaring the the owner didn’t care. Please know we have never once posted a negative review as to not effect a business, but this we did for anyone who is considering to coming here. If she could do this to people on their wedding day and behave as to show no regard we can only imagine how less should would care about a regular reservation. It is the epitome of disrespect and just how unconscionable her total disregard for caring. Luckily we refused to not let her actions overshadow our joyous day and the love we all share for each other. That she could not take from us - just sad it wasn’t even...

We arrived on time for our 5:45 reservation and at first didn’t even know where to go. The entryway is very crammed and crowded with tables so we walked back near the bar which seems to be some sort of a makeshift hostess station (they really need a better setup as we were standing right over peoples tables while waiting to be greeted and seated). We got to our table after waiting few minutes (again, hovering awkwardly over peoples tables). Our table was nicely set back in the side room corner which was nice (so we thought- but would later find may be why they forgot us!) Staff was friendly and we ordered some drinks and an appetizer (the Naan garlic bread was amazing) and the drinks and bread came very quickly. Then after asking some questions about the menu (which the server was very helpful and friendly about) we ordered our food. Then we waited. And waited and waited and waited!.... they must have forgotten about us. Our reservation was for 5:45... we were served our food at 7:45. Two hours later!! Additionally, between the time of ordering and getting our food no one ever once returned to check on us or to update us or get us another drink. It was as if they just totally forgot about our table. Finally when I waved our server over they then brought the food shortly after. Then, again it seems they forgot we existed. There was no follow up. No offer for dessert, no asking how the food was... finally. At about 8:15 we had to get the server’s attention and ask for the bill- 2.5hrs after arriving! Yes- the food was great! But I was shocked at how poor the service was. How can it take two hours from arrival to getting the food. I may try takeout next time. It’s not often I can afford to take a 2hr+ dinner!

I hope this is not normal- we would like to try your restaurant again but it was crazy how slow it was and that no one ever even seemed to...

I want to thank the amazing manager and staff of this exceptional Indian restaurant! This is fine dining at its best in the heart of Rhinebeck. The first time I was here was in Dec 2018 for my birthday with friends. We dined in the Spice Room Upstairs and had the best time with delicious healthy Indian food and great service. I loved my Dosa! So it was an easy choice when I chose to hold a very special personal event on May 4, 2019 . The manager was so accessible and easy to work with to plan the dinner. It was a Celebration to honor the life of my dog Rescue and his sister Bandit. When I arrived to set up before my guests arrived, my breath was taken away by the amazing scene she had set for our group ! She had thought of every detail from projecting my photo of my dogs on the wall, to candles and white tablecloths to the lovely instrumental music she had chosen to play in the background which was perfect and really set the mood for the evening ahead! She and her staff were so helpful and attentive to every need. They helped my carry in photos from my car parked in the municipal lot. The manager helped me set up my photos. The appetizers were promptly served with the fine drinks as my guests arrived.. she personally took our orders for dinner and then turned the music down during my speech and resumed it when we were ready. The dinner food was served and everyone loved their food! We had both meat and veggie dishes and all were so absolutely delicious. The goat cheese naan and the sweet naan were especially pleasing! For dessert the gulab jaman and ice cream were served and even resembled the face of a pup!! My masala chai and dessert were yummy! The evening was perfect!! I will always recommend Cinnamon!! It is the Best Indian and one of my Favorite restaurants in the...
