There’s something sacred about walking into a place that doesn’t try to impress you — because it doesn’t have to. Crab N Go in Liverpool, NY, is one of those joints. No neon promises, no influencer-bait decor. Just the quiet confidence of people who know how to fry a shrimp better than most chefs with a TV deal.
Let’s talk shrimp. Jumbo. Perfectly cooked. The kind of fry job that makes you stop mid-bite and mutter, “Damn, that’s good.” Golden, crisp, seasoned just right — and served scorching hot. Not lukewarm, not tired — hot, like it just left the fryer because someone gave a damn. There’s pride in that.
But fried shrimp is just the gateway. These folks do seafood like they mean it. Crab legs? Piled high, steaming, ready to crack open and dunk in butter until you forget what state you’re in. Crab boils? Absolute chaos in the best possible way — corn, potatoes, sausage, and crab coming together in a glorious, spicy mess that demands both hands and a pile of napkins. It’s food that slows you down and shuts you up. Respect.
The space is small but comfortable, with more than enough seats to settle in and take your time. You’re not being rushed out the door here. It’s casual, welcoming — like stepping into someone’s well-run backyard seafood party, only with better lighting and no mosquitoes.
The service? Outstanding. They treat you like you’ve been coming there for years. No fake smiles. No forced charm. Just warm, efficient, real people who seem to actually enjoy what they’re doing.
And the prices? More than reasonable. You leave full, happy, and slightly stunned that food this good didn’t just clean out your wallet.
Crab N Go isn’t trying to be famous. They’re not playing trends or chasing clout. They’re just cooking killer seafood in a quiet corner of upstate New York — and doing it better than most.

Read moreWent in with a party of just three, about an hour an a half before closing time. There were already guests there eating … we werent served or given menus or even asked for beverages until about 30 minutes after sitting down (there was hardly anyone in the restaurant) server kept looking at us and avoiding us but could go sit behind the register and eat her own food until she felt satisfied enough to come take care of us. The food was absolutely disgusting and disappointing, the sauce was trash! The seafood had a musty strong fishy flavor, potatoes were rotted and smelled like feet. Mussels were dirty and still had netting and sand attached . Only good thing were the crab. As soon as I got home I felt sick. I have been on the toilet since I left and it is now the next day… I dont know if I got food poisened or not… but all i can say is dont go here… and i never leave reviews … Sauce 0/10 , Seafood , 0/10 Customer Service 1/10....
Read moreNice experience! This is more than food. Delivered in a bag accompanied by gloves and a bip be ready to dive in. Lots of food. We started with raw oysters. Small but tasty. Then ordered the Wednesday special, snow crab & shrimp plus added clams and crayfish. The special came with corn and potatoes. All of this in the garlic butter sauce with a low spice level. The food was cooked well but quite a bit of work. If you're familiar with boils then you're used to this. We were there around 12:30 and the only diners. The staff was friendly and left us to our own devices. Not really sure of the best plan of attack we could have used a little direction. Maybe a request asking if we knew the best way to eat a crawfish or a laminated instruction page. Minus one star for the small clams and the high cost. Overall an...
