I agree with one other reviewer... it's overrated and over salted!! Attentive waitress (whom I tipped well) said only tables were outside or at the bar ... not true but I like the bar . Except it was poorly constructed with too high of stools and terrible trim. Needs a sawzall to take a few inches off the legs! Got to watch the mixologist who is well known in town and a great guy. But menu prices for drinks were for the "lake people" exuberant for a prole like me. Good things- attentive staff- ambiance ok - not over loud canned music - in fact none I recall. Bad -- bread for starters - was way too salty- meant to be -- as an old cook like me knows the profit is in the drinks -- make the customer thirsty- and he'll buy another way overpriced drink. I was taught to salt over much to sell the drinks. Sickening practice in the restaurant biz! Local mediocre wines were in mid teens per glass - out of protest I went cheap canned cider... and my experienced mate she went with beer. (She'd steered me away from here in the past despite being a once regular customer but I insisted out of curiosity). Worse-- they didn't pay their web site account so I couldn't find the menu on line. Better-- salmon was cooked to perfection-- except breaded -- breading on all our dishes - another trick to hide not great veggies or imperfections. Plus more salt to whet thirst for wine or drinks. Good looking food and if a normie looking for a pretentious meal to impress it's ok. I am writing this in the wee hours as I can't sleep after that dose of salty bread plus all the breading with salt.

Purposely kept our bill below a hundred by sharing one entree, two starters, one desert and two cheap drinks. $100+ with tip. Avoid the bread!! The potatoes and snap peas in Salmon dish were great...

Do not come to this restaurant. They only care about how much $$$ they can make off your party. If you are a small group and/or do not order alcohol, prepare for a complete lack of care, attention, or respect.

This was by far the worst dining experience I’ve ever had, and calling it a ā€œdiningā€ experience is generous at best. The restaurant was a letdown from the start. We were seated at high top that was noticeably slanted. If we had a pen it would have definitely rolled off!!

It took over 10 minutes to get water, and another 5 to get cups for the water. Upon ordering, the waitress seemed annoyed that we didn’t order any alcohol.

10+ minutes after ordering we finally got bread. However, after finishing our bread and water, it took around 15 minutes for anyone to come replace the water [never got any more bread :(]. The entire time we were waiting the establishment was also very noisy, it was near impossible to talk to my partner across the table. This isn’t something the restaurant can control, but it made the experience all the more unpleasant.

Over an hour after we had ordered our salad appetizer, the waitress came over and insisted it was about to come out. 5 minutes later nothing came, but the large table who sat down and ordered well after us did receiver their food. And for those curious, they had ordered alcohol which was served nearly immediately to them upon ordering.

We left immediately after this blatant act of disrespect. None of the staffed noticed. In fact, we crossed by the restaurant again after dropping by another local store (DAs liquor), and our table hadn’t even been cleared.

Eat literally anywhere else in town. Your wallet and time...

Beware—- they will only pay attention to you here if you are a large party or drinking heavily.

Curt service from the beginning. They were not the most polite on the phone when we called to make a reservation, but we figured it was a one-off. It unfortunately was not a one off.

When we got there, it was all downhill. As soon as we said we weren’t ordering drinks, it became clear they didn’t want us there. The waitress asked if we were sure we didn’t want drinks, then if we wanted to keep the menu for drinks. We said no, and they decided to focus on other parties instead. After that, we waited ten minutes to get water, and when it came there were no glasses.

Can’t say how the food is because it never came. We put in our order (two apps and two entrees) at 7:06 pm. At 8:15 pm there was still no sign of food, despite the waitress saying it was coming soon. When we saw a party that had ordered a good deal after us get their food, we left. No one noticed when we left either.

I felt bad leaving, but I have never waited over an hour for a salad appetizer and I don’t want to spend money at a place that doesn’t want me there.

I am writing this from a fabulous pub downtown, where the bartender greeted us when we came in and the salad I ordered didn’t take an hour. Highly recommend you spend your money at red brick...

3 stars across the board. The waitress was nice and attentive. We ordered the Delmonico steak and it was prepared correctly (med rare per our request)and seasoned well, but it was very nervy. At least 5-6 bites had to be spit out into my napkin because they just wouldn’t relent after 20-30 chews. They clearly do not trim their steaks well enough. There was an excessive amount of fat on the steak too. I’m not sure what the heck was in the mashed potatoes to turn them a dinghy brown color. It certainly wasn’t gravy! I can only presume that they dump the grease and fat from braising the steak, into the potatoes which were horrible. Presentation left a lot to be desired. The string beans were not steamed long enough, were hard, and they were haphazardly tossed on top of the brown mashed potatoes. This looked more like a high school cafeteria meal to me than a $50/plate steak (including the $22 ā€œmeat prep feeā€) restaurant. I think I’m in the wrong business. I can spread salt, pepper and olive oil on a steak, braise it myself with thyme and rosemary sprigs, add some butter and save the $22 fee. I’ll skip this place next time. The only thing that appealed to me here was the flight of wine.

This hidden gem was a fantastic surprise for my friends and me last night. Situated near the little bridge from ā€œIt’s a Wonderful Lifeā€œ, we had an amazing meal. Everything was perfect - appetizers included, grilled octopus, homemade whipped ricotta, and a version of a blooming onion called a blooming mushroom made with oyster mushroom. It was out of this world! Two of us had the fish special Walleye Pike, on a bed of yummy risotto. Hats off to the chef, whose preparation was immaculate, no bones! If you know anything about eating pike, it’s almost impossible to debone during prep. And it was delicious. As was the homemade Bolognese enjoyed by our third in the group. We enjoyed our desserts and coffee, and went home feeling satisfied and happy. Highly recommend, well worth an hours drive. Do it!

I selected this based on location and rating for a quick lunch after visiting the Women's Rights NHS. Very limited lunch menu, didn't feel like a sandwich so ordered the fish and chips. I think you can tell from the photo, it wasn't good. The fries were overcooked and both the fries and fish just tasted of grease. They need to change their fryer oil. I left $18 of food on the table because it was inedible. A week later, I was in a shop in town and asked for a lunch recommendation, he said Sackett's. I said, no, had a horrible meal there. He said I'm only the 4-5th person he's talked to that didn't like Sackett's. Trying to be fair, maybe their dinners are much better, maybe just don't order the fish & chips, but I certainly wouldn't try again. I recommend Cafe 19 for a great lunch, BTW.
