The typical Mc Donald's experience you should be able to rely on is no more.
First off, there is no indoor seating. And please, I don't want to hear one more lame offering of COVID-19 as an excuse. There is no requirement to refrain from opening the dining room, and plenty of other national fast food chains have done so for quite some time now. It's probably the labor situation, but that is something they can control by compensation. Anyway, that aside, there are other problems as well.
Quality of food has lowered; I'm talking fries. The overall quality of McD food has never been a high point, but it is what it is for what it is. Fries here though have decended for sure. Most of the time they are luke-warm, wilted, pathetic excuses for fries and are bathing in salt. Seems to me like they often are held too long in the tray under the heat lamp where all the salt has shifted down. Corporate has time limit rules designed to prevent fries from being sold which aren't fresh enough. At least they historically always have, and I doubt they've recinded them.
Finally, the last main reason why I've adjusted my rating down; service has dramatically declined. This is the most serious of the concerns in my view. I can honestly say that there are mistakes getting my order around 40% of the time. I'm serious, and am trying not to over state it. That is an ABYSMAL error rate! Life is too short for that kind of nonsense. For the most part, we have pretty much given up going here. I guess the silver lining is that we are just that much less exposed to some of the most processed "food" in an industry known for that .
It's McDonald's, so you likely already know exactly what to expect. That being said, this one has an older more classic design. It's kept just as clean as a new one but has a nice nostalgic quality. I've heard rumors that it may be getting an overhaul soon though. Until then, enjoy...
Read moreIf I could give them zero stars I would but I had to pick one. They were closing an hour and a half early this evening due to only having 4 workers. I completely understood that however what I didnt understand was why they had 4 of us in vehicles waiting in line for almost 10 mins before putting out the cones. The worker never came back to any of us in our vehicles to give the courtesy of letting us know. I then pulled around to the last drive up window to speak to the manager on duty, Jacob. He proceeds to tell me multiple times they were short staff and thats why they were closing early. He was not listening to me when I was telling him I wasn't upset about that part nor was I arguing that point with him. What I was upset about was the worker they sent outside let us sit in line when he could have set the cones dwn and advised us customers waiting in line that they were closing early rather than having us all wait to be told we just sat there for nothing. Jacob proceeds to tell me that I should have known that the guy standing out in drive thru meant they were closing early. When I asked him his name the 1st time he wouldn't tell me and continued talking. Never once an apology of how their process of informing waiting customers that they were closing early was a fail. He just kept on going on about how short staff they were which again was not the issue I had. He told me I could come back tomorrow to speak to the GM which I definitely will be doing. I then traveled to the McDonald's on the Northside on George st where I received the best customer service. Make sure you check that all of your food is in the bag/box. Ran over to get kiddo a happymeal, got home.. only thingnin the box was the nuggets, napkins, and toy.. wth.. i am paying $6 for what? This is not the first time. So many times the toy is missing, they try to hand me food with no drinks, and my fav is ordering a large coffee extra cream and sugar and being handed a black coffee...
So close to home we stop here often. Only thing I would change is the "play area" get rid of the games and maybe a booth or 2 and get a mini climber and slide. It will go a long way. Either way will continue to eat here.
I drop my star count from 5 to 3. Why? We go almost weekly and mostly when I am to tired to cook from 12 hour shifts. My feet hurt so we hit drive thru and I always ha e the whole order to save times. #1 when did the side salad go from $1 to $2.44? #2 I said "a order of hot cakes# and happen to catch he rung in 4 orders of hot cakes. I apologized for the misu understanding but she said "you ordered 4" #3 and the real reason.. We get to the window and get 1/3rd of the order and was asked to pull up. Sure that's fine I work a drive thru and understand time. Lady brings us out the bag and walks away. I look in the bag to see the large fry is not there. I check the receipt and see I did order it. We swing back around and say "yeah we just came thru with that big order. You guys forgot the large fry" the lady snapped back at me -you need to come inside for that- um ok?
