The novelty of the conveyor belt & dish deposit makes this place fun for a person who doesn't do sushi often. "Rosie" (Jetsons fans will get the reference) is another cool novelty! I didn't think a robot would be serving me drinks in my lifetime!
It provides a decent selection of offerings. I LOVE the spider rolls! The Yuzu jalapeño tuna is amazing! All of the beef offerings were tasty.
My daughter was not impressed with the miso ramen. She said the noodles were not cooked well & as a result hard. She also said the miso broth tasted off/different than what she is accustomed to.
The Taiyaki Ice Cream is a favorite for my daughter & her friend. They really enjoyed it! I enjoyed the watermelon. My daughter had the cheesecake on one of our outings & said it was amazing.
This review is based on 3 visits ( I don't think one visit can tell you all the potential a place has or all of us downfalls. That being said, let me tell you about the service. There wasn't a visit where the service was below par. Our last visit was the absolute BEST where service is concerned. Shout out to DARWIN for being AMAZING! Darwin was attentive, engaging, helpful, informative, & animated!!!
A lot of reviews only focus on the service & food. There's a lot to be said for such a small space that doesn't come off as overly crowded when packed on a Saturday night. One of our visits was your typical Saturday night with 45 minutes + waiting to dine. The restaurant was completely full & you weren't tripping over people. That being said, there really isn't anywhere for waiting people to sit or stand other than outside. I foresee this to be an issue in the winter & inclement weather. Perhaps the restaurant should consider those little pager things or set up a call ahead list with text response like Texas Roadhouse so people can sit in their cars while waiting. The bathrooms were pristine every single time. They have bidets complete with heated seats for a comfy "experience." I still can't help but laugh at that. All of the bathrooms are gender, neutral, and family friendly. This is great for the single mom or dad, who needs a changing station for their wee one.
Over all, I give Kura, Revolving...
Read moreI’ve seen some past reviews about the quality of the Sushi. I am no Sushi expert but enjoy it from time to time. I have no complaints about the food, matter of fact I really enjoyed it. Is it gourmet? I couldn’t tell you but my family enjoyed it nonetheless. The belt system that runs between the tables is pretty innovative. All throughout your seating the belt is constantly turning with a wide variety of options to choose from. I thought it impressive. If you can’t wait for your option to come around, there is an express belt that will bring your food right to your table when you order off the tablet that every table has. Your drinks are brought to your table by a little robot. As I looked around the kids love the robot waiter. They have their own app that you can download and put your name on the wait list, or, you can stop in and add it in the tablet at the desk. There’s not much of a waiting area but putting your name on the list thru the app or at the desk means you can wait wherever you like and receive a text when your table is “almost” ready. We dined in as a family of 3 and had options from the belt as well as ordering right to the table. Everything is priced by the plate. Was it cheap? I thought the experience and the food was worth it. Can your bill get away from you fast? Absolutely. Be aware of what you’re taking and you can control your bill. It was our first time there so we certainly tried a lot of different options. In the end, we have certainly spent more and less for a dinner out. Besides, what’s a cheap dinner out these days. Tipping feels a little odd because your food is brought by belt or robot. How do you tip a belt? Don’t forget there’s people back there preparing all the food that comes out and a staff that cleans off the tables. There were lots of family’s with younger children there so it seems very family friendly. I think it is surely worth a visit. No pictures this time but there will be next time we visit. And we will be back. Overall, we had a nice experience and recommend trying it at least once....
Read moreWe heard about Kura Sushi Smith Haven on Social Media and the signage after CPK closed. Today is their soft opening and we decided to try it. An interesting and fun experience from beginning to end. Outside there is a kiosk where you can enter your name, number in your party, and phone number to be texted when your table is ready. It was a little clunky due to the internet, but one of the staff members was constantly around to address issues and ensure anyone waiting was tended to. There were four of us. Not a long wait time. Seating was comfortable and the atmosphere was very pleasant. Clean amenities. Several staff when we were there, and never had to look for someone to call over because someone was always within sight. Our server was Darwin. He was very attentive. One of the plates that had come to us was a different roll than ordered. He had it corrected very quickly. Our drinks had not arrived, and he took care of that quickly as well. His level of concern and service to us was absolutely exceptional and hope to be seated at his table again on our next visit. The food was very tasty and came quickly. Ordering on the kiosk was fun, and when you discard 15 plates or so, a prize comes out of a chute 😊😂. Very Dragon Ball Z in there, we liked that. We gave the food a rating of four. The quality was average compared to our local sushi restaurants, but it was all fresh and tasty. The desserts (taiyaki and donuts, both with ice cream) were good, but too oily. Easily remedied with a paper napkin, but wish it was a bit less. When you sign up on their app, and enter your information, points are added based on plates submitted into the receptacle 😂 very cute, but we now have about $20 in points for future visits. We enjoyed it, especially my daughters, and will...
