Just got back from this restaurant got there about 2:00 in the afternoon place pretty much empty maybe for 5 tables. Ask for the lunch menu which was in a menu flyer that was sent to our home when they first opened stating that they serve lunch from 11:30 to 3:00 Monday through Saturday. None was available. The menu prices are on the high end. More like Manhattan prices. No for Lake Grove and a view of the parking lot. I did get to mall security clean their car and change their clothes. It was a late lunch so we got miso soup which was the highlight of the meal. The miso soup came to the table first and I waited for my seaweed salad another 5 minutes. When I asked what was taking so long I got an attitude that it was coming. When the seaweed salad got to the table it looked like it was scooped out of a container and just thrown into another bowl why it took close to 20 minutes, I don't understand. We ordered 3 rolls . Very underwhelming. Very small rolls with a dot of wasabi on the side. Also my husband ordered a yellowtail and jalapeno roll and they use pickled jalapenos instead of fresh. Again not what you would expect for the prices that they are. He ordered a avocado and eel roll and there was the tiniest piece of eel with a huge piece of avocado and eel skin. Again ridiculous. We don't go to restaurants and complain because I do not like a scene and I do know that it's difficult to work at the restaurant, but the way we were treated I felt if we did complain no one would care. It was just an uncomfortable place to eat. But instead of complaining and trying to get something off the bill we paid left a nice tip and we will...
Read moreMe n my partner came here for the first time and it will definitely be the last. First came in having a reservation and didn’t sit down immediately. There were a few couples whom got seated before us without reservations. So ig don’t bother with reservations since it wasn’t even worth it. We were there first and told the hostess as well. Secondly came the food, which was sub par for size and price(order dim sum) definitely not worth the order of them. Lastly came our entrees which was beef general tso and grilled hibachi beef which both imo was really mid better off getting it at a Chinese restaurant. The plates we were served had a lot of food particles on it as well and definitely not fully cleaned properly and we even waited 35 minutes for our food to be given to us, and we even asked to have all our food tg being the appetizer n entrees but that didn’t happen. At this point I was thought well this was a huge L. Than our bill came to $97.15($18 appetizer, $26 general tso, $26 grilled hibachi)and my thought was wowowow definitely too much for what we experienced and where the extra charges came from I have no idea.math doesn’t mathing. I got an surcharge for a tip that I didn’t know either so in the end definitely wouldn’t want someone to get their hopes high here. Forgot to mention there lighting was really bad imo. It’s way too dark, didn’t give off I’m getting layed tonight:/ maybe more like dark stories of the...
Read moreMito used to be a standout dining destination—elegant, refined, and memorable. My first visit, when the restaurant first opened, left a lasting impression, with thoughtful décor and a menu that showcased creativity and execution, particularly their Beurre Pasta, which featured a bold and balanced flavor profile that was truly unique.
Unfortunately, every visit after paints a very different picture. The restaurant now feels poorly managed, with a notable drop in both service efficiency and culinary quality. The menu has undergone an unwelcome transformation, with several once-popular items—including my favorite Beurre Pasta and Watercress Salad items—now removed entirely. What remains lacks the same level of innovation and appeal.
The sushi we ordered was alarmingly subpar—the fish tasted noticeably aged, lacked freshness, and had an off-putting aroma that raised concerns about its quality. Presentation and portion size did little to justify the premium pricing, and overall, the meal failed to deliver even the basic expectations for a restaurant of this caliber.
It’s disappointing to see such a dramatic shift in standards. Mito once stood out for all the right reasons, but now struggles to recapture even a fraction of its former excellence. After giving Mito multiple chances, I won’t...
