đ DO NOT TRUST STREET TALK IN SMITHHAVEN MALL â Worst Customer Service Experience EVER đ
I had an absolutely appalling experience at Street Talk in Smithhaven Mall. I paid $100 to have my daughterâs phone screen replaced, and within just six months, the screen began peeling off at the top. When I returned to the store, they claimed they couldnât locate any record of my purchase conveniently forgetting the service they charged me for. Instead of honoring their repair, they demanded another $70 just to glue the screen down. They said a replacement would be free if the issue recurred within 6 months. Spoiler alert: that was a lie.
Two months later, the same issue returned. This time, they did find my record yet refused to stand behind their work and demanded another $100 to replace the screen. Seth, the owner and manager of all Street Talk booths in the mall, flatly refused to help. When I attempted to advocate for myself, he became condescending and dismissive, even insinuating that I âdidnât understand Englishâ a deeply disrespectful and racially charged remark, made in front of my child.
𧯠Security had to intervene (thank you Chris and Joe), and I was told to call mall management, Street Talk USA corporate, and even file a police report. That alone speaks volumes.
I returned one last time seeking resolution, and Seth literally told me to go away.
đĄ I later visited Zaag, another store in the mall, where they immediately diagnosed the issue Street Talk had used excessive glue, causing the screen to lift. Zaag cleaned the mess and replaced the screen without hassle. Professional. Transparent. The total opposite of Street Talk.
đ Seth printed a receipt with fine print about âphysical damageâ voiding the warranty, yet there was no physical damage whatsoever. Their own system noted I had a 6-month warranty, and this was within two months of the last repair. Street Talkâs actions werenât just dishonest they were abusive.
đ´ Avoid Street Talk at all costs. Between their bait-and-switch pricing, false warranties, rude and prejudiced behavior, and refusal to make things right, this was the most disturbing customer service experience Iâve ever had. I will never go there again and I strongly urge others not to support a business that operates with such blatant disregard for decency...
Read moreBrought our work phone to have the screen fixed. Told it would take a little over an hour. Had to leave early and asked if the phone could be picked up the next day.
The workers there said âyesâ (and to their credit, this review is not on them. The employees did nothing wrong) We were asked to prepay and though itâs weird to have been asked to prepay for something that hasnât been fixed yet, we did.
Returned the next day to find out they didnât have the right screen. It was being ordered and we were asked to return Tuesday of next week.
We returned Tuesday and the phone was not repaired. The employee said the part did not come in and again asked us to wait.
We couldnât. We use that phone to make content for our business. We run an ad agency.
We asked for the phone back and a refund as we had prepaid. We were denied a refund and given the phone back.
The manager continually interrupted us as we asked for a refund because a job was never completed. We had words with him and he had words with us.
We left with a broken phone and having to dispute the charge with our credit union. This should be cut and dry, no phone repair in the agreed to amount of time, no fee. Just refund the money. Nope. The manager is disputing our claim and I guess is insisting on keeping our money for a job his company didnât complete.
Street Talk is owned by a pompous excuse for a human. A greedy, reptile like person who thinks itâs okay to steal money from people for services rendered incomplete by their business.
Keep disputing our refund. Weâre going to get our money back. Hell or high water. You snake. Weâre going to make sure people know how you steal and inconvenience...
Read moreIf I could give this place 0 stars I would. We went to the smith haven mall in lake grove to get the back of my husbands iphone fixed. 3 hours later we go to find out whatâs going on. The phone looked warped and completely damaged and Seth (the owner) states that this has never happened before and that he will send it in to get fixed and he will take care of everything. Now looking at these other reviews apparently this is something that he says and something that happens often with his store. He was very accommodating at first he gave us a phone to use in the mean time and paid for the SIM card we needed with sprint in order for the phone he gave us to work because his repair guy had melted the one that was in the the original phone. Fast forward to when the phone is ready to be picked up . He charges my husband full price (140 dollars) despite telling us he will take care of the cost. He tells my husband he will not give him his phone if he doesnât pay. So he pays. My husband takes the phone to the sprint store to get a new SIM card thatâs compatible, where the tech states that the phone looks like a hack job therefore can not be returned also the internal SIM card part of the phone is completely Damaged therefore the phone is useless because no SIM card will work with it at all. Learn your lesson from us and take your phone to Apple. We are now forced to either 1. buy this useless phone because it is a âflex leaseâ or 2. turn it in and pay 300 dollars for the...
