Not my first time eating at a Sonic, but first time at this location. The food was just not good although the inside is clean and well kept. However, the franchise manager is my real reason for the one star. Totally obnoxious and no confidence in his staff. A carhop was reading back a large order to a customer when he blatantly told the customer to check his bag before he leaves to make sure everything is there. The carhop stuck up for herself and told him that she double checked it, when he then proceeded to tell the customer to "make sure they made it correctly". All while laughing. Like, that's not a joke. Go in the back and make sure the food is being prepared correctly BEFORE it goes out, don't belittle your staff in front of customers. Oh, he also told a staff member to be trained in multiple positions bc she won't be a valuable employee if she only does one job. Now, while I agree that you should learn all the aspects of your job, you shouldn't be made to feel unvaluable, no matter what your doing. Also when an employee asked him to "have faith" in her, he quipped back with "I never said I didn't have faith in you, but I never said I did either". Ugh, just...

It's the issue with ordering in the app. Many of the specials they advertise are only available on the app. Their Nesconset location is in a Wi-Fi & data service dead zone (in case you're wondering, Optimum & Sprint). Sporadically, the app will let me check-in for ordered-ahead pick up, usually it doesn't. I used to go quite often on my way home from work when I was on long shifts and late night hours. After a late shift, you just want to eat something quick and get home to bed for your regular early start the next morning. They do sporadically send text deals you can use inside. They cut off in-app ordering an hour before they close, too, so bear that in mind. Though, they should honor the deals offered in the app if they're open yet, not allowing you to order through the app. I asked once if they would honor the special, and the "manager" acted like I was asking for something unreasonable. Are you kidding me? How else would you know that your shake is gross if you didn't sip it? Anyway they proceed to tell her that she couldn't have something else because she already sipped it. What embarrassing and terrible customer service. Those employees obviously have zero idea how to treat customers. I can tell you that wouldn't have happened if I were there, I would have demanded a refund. The milkshake tasted like rotten cheese, my wife brought it home to show me how disgusting it was.
