(Double review!) First time here for me (2021). But, not for my friend who comes here a lot. I had a delicious meatball parm sub and it came with very delicious homemade Mac salad. She had the Triple Choice appetizers including Humus, Taxaki, and fried calamari appetizers. Other things they are known for a Gyros, and even liver and onions. You can get eggplant parmesan and chicken cordon Bleu heros. Wraps of all kinds, and dinner dishes also. All the Greek standbys are available, too. Easy parking. Sit inside or outside. Service was friendly and good. Worth the try. I know I'll be going back. Excellent prices also. Afterwards, right over to the Resorts World Casino. It was a nice meal followed by a fun afternoon. If you're driving down Rt 17 heading to the Catskill's, this is a great place to stop for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. EZ on, EZ off. Bring the kids, also. Plenty of parking next to the restaurant, and in an adjoining lot. The food is just awesome!
9-2-23: Stopped in for lunch and had a most delicious eggplant rollatini (2 pcs) with pene pasta. It was fresh and tasty! She had a flakey spinach dish with humus and a pile of pita bread, along with a dish of tazaki. Jessica waited on us. Very attentive even though it was busy. No problem getting a table, though. The food was delicious as usual and the prices are fantastic! You receive a big portion also. I highly recommend Yanni's for a great meal! You can't go...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI was in Monticello on business and needed a bite to eat that wasnāt a burger. I was hoping for something healthy-ish so I came upon Yanniās. Good ratings on Yelp and Google great, letās give it a try. Very nice folks, good service, accommodating but the food was just terrible. I cannot rule everything out as I only tried one dish and the menu is extensive and I obviously am in the minority here so but my god was it rough. For the record I ordered a portobello & goat cheese panini with a side of oven roasted veggies. Sounds pretty good to me but boy was I wrong. Goat cheese is strong flavor and should be used sparingly. Said panini was literally drowning in it- literally. I attempted to dissect that bad boy with the hopes of scraping some of it off to salvage my hunger but no-go. I picked out some of the portobello (which was good) but the rest was shot- the bread was wet from the goat cheese⦠wet. The roasted veggies came out and looked like puke, wet with juices of I donāt know what as oven baked means (in my minds eye) roasted almost. I say this cringingly as the folks in here were very nice but this by far was one of the worst, if not the worst meals I have ever had. Steer clear if you have a palette as this neighborhood eatery has made me question my adventurous...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI had the original gyro with fries. the meat was well seasoned and the veggies were fresh and crisp. the fries were thin handcut potatoes hot and delicious. my boyfriend had the hot open face roast beef, the meat was very tender but underseasoned. the potato salad fresh but also not very seasoned. we sat outside and the area infront of the restaurant is like a secluded oasis. the chairs were not very comfortable however. last but certainly not least, the service was topnotch. diana, our waitress, was so nice, funny, pleasant, and professional. she checked in but was not obtrusive at all. another really nice woman who was working tables nearby also checked in but I didn't get her name. we had a great lunch and will definitely be back.
Update: ordered takeout today and unfortunately had a completely different experience. No one said hello or thank you when we picked the food up and the gyro meat was extremely dry. The grape leaves were good. Hopefully itās just...
