Mr Sushi & Grill — Restaurant in Town of Wallkill

The first impression was that the old Chinese guy in the front desk (guessing he's the owner) asked us for my phone number, which was strange because we were standing there waiting to be seated. He didn't say why he needed my phone number.

We got seated right away, and the wait staff took our order. I remembered that my son had a specific allergy to certain fish, and I mentioned this to the wait staff. The wait staff came back and told me there would be an extra charge to not include these fish. I specifically told that wait staff that I did not want to play extra for this and to just make it as is comes.

He brought our food, everything was great. We even ordered a third portion because we enjoyed it so much. I have to mention that all 3 portions came with the exact fish that I was asking to have removed on the plate. My son ate around it.

When we got our bill, there was an extra charge for the first two portions and another one for the third. All three portions had the fish my son is allergic to on the plates. We asked the waitstaff, and he got the old man to come and explain.

The old guy explained in a very rude manner, waiving his hands in our face, telling us about him working in America for 50 years and that we agreed for this upcharge. He blamed us for it. He didn't say anything that made any sense and then started negotiating the price of the upcharge with us like at some sort of auction.

We never agreed to any extra charges from the beginning and didn't even know how much it was, and they didn't even exclude anything of what we asked, and they charged us for. This guy made such a big scene about nothing and then charged us extra on the tips to cover himself. We would normally not pay that much for the tip on the mediocre service, but we had enough at that point and just wanted to leave the restaurant.

To sum this all up the drinks were good, the food was good, the staff was okay. The host or restaurant owner had a very rude personality with an inferiority complex and greedy and...

We went with normal sit down instead of hibachi. I asked for one of their curry options from the menu, they said they no longer serve curry dishes so I asked for pineapple fried rice which was explicitly an item on their menu as well - I was then told they do not have pineapple fried rice but I can choose fried rice and add pineapple for $2 or $3. I chose vegetable fried rice with added pineapple and added shrimp. Girlfriend chose the pad thai option. The waitress was very unenthusiastic and barely spoke any English. The food came and it was horrible. The rice I ordered had frozen style peas and carrots for vegetables-- that's it!! Just peas and carrots!!-- the pineapple bits were from a can and nothing had flavor, the shrimp was not cleaned very well and had no seasoning or sauce on it,... nothing had flavor. The pad thai taste like it was pulled from a trash can and was warmed up with an excessive amount of cayenne powder on it -- I mean the entire dish was colored red because of the ridiculous amount that was poured on top -- the noodles were soggy and mushy, there was no flavor besides the cayenne pepper. I brought our concerns to the waitress, she consulted someone else and they then explained in broken English that "it's good, we make it this way". I cannot begin to Express how disgusted i was. We didn't eat about 95% of our food and we were both sick to our stomachs the entire night.

How dare you serve this to people. You are deliberately putting your customers at risk. And then trying to justify it instead of taking care of your customers, This place should be shut down. Never...

Went to mr.sushi and it was the worst experience ever. Been there multiple times and everything was fine but this time it was different. We went for lunch and we sat down in our booth. We already know what we wanted since we get the same thing each time. We sat there for a while. My mom went to the bathroom and then I went and they still didn’t get our orders. We sat there for while longer and the man in the front asked if we were ready and we said yes. He said someone was coming out soon. We waited even longer after that. It was a tuesday afternoon there were maybe 6 tables. I don’t understand why it took so long just to get out orders. server finally comes out and food arrived quickly. We ordered sushi and they have forgotten the cups for the soy sauce so we waited for our server to show up again. at the end we get the check and paid and left 10% tip. and the server comes up to us and says that’s it? she was very extremely rude and proceeds to ask if she did anything wrong or if she needs to improve her customer service? I said no it was fine and she just stood there waiting for a more money. I didn’t want to argue or complain so I left $3 more dollars said that we waited for a while in the beginning. I just didn’t like that they confronted us about the tip. This has never happened before at any place but of course it happened here cause their customer service is always meh. we have left tips before with other servers and it was fine but with this server she got upset.
