Ruby Tuesday — Restaurant in Town of Wallkill

Today, 9/14/2024 after visiting my aunt, I decided to treat my sister since it’s her birthday with my brother-in-law. Besides, this is their first time to eat at Ruby Tuesday. Our server is very nice. I think her name is Nyasia. My sister ordered 2 for $25 (chips with artichoke dip, cheeseburger & chicken with bourbon sauce I think. We also added 2 unlimited salad that cost $6.99 each. My sister & I went to salad bar. Our orders came in and Ashley, the manager brought our food and as if she’s not happy to serve us. She also brought the chicken with mashed potatoes ordered by my sister. She’s expecting that there will be a coleslaw on the side but there’s none. Thus, she gave her left over salad to her husband & stood up to get the coleslaw at the salad bar. When we asked for our bill and checked it out, we were charged $6.99 3 times. So I asked the Nyasia why does she charged us another $6.99 for the salad when only my sister & I went to the salad bar. Nyasia told asked that her manager told her to charge another $6.99 because she saw my brother-in-law eating the left over and that my sister stood up just to get the coleslaw. So when we complained about it, she went to our table and with condensing voice. She doesn’t know how to handle the situation and we felt we were discriminated when she approached us at our table. I was expecting that she will be the role model for her staff but Nyasi our server handled it very well in saving Ruby Tuesday’s reputation. Your manager even told us, “I don’t know what SHENANIGANS you are doing..,” that really shoot up my blood pressure. For $6.99 we can pay double than that, but to accuse us as if we are trying to steal that $6.99 is something else.Although we are Asians, we are all US Citizens. Worst restaurant experience ever. We went to the Middletown NY Ruby Tuesday 01/07/23. It was the 4 of us, 2 adults 2 teenagers (My daughter & her boufriend) because everywhere else had waiting lines out the door except for Ruby Tuesday. That should have been a red alert considering the 2 times we've been there before weren't awesome but we were all hungry so we decided to go in. The table was sticky so I asked the waitress to please get a spray cleaner & a towel so I yes I can clean the table. She comes back with a dirty soaked towel no spray but again we were starving so I wiped the table then I asked for some napkins to wipe the table dry, table was still sticky. Then we ordered drinks, omg my boyfriend's sprite tasted like bathroom water (he ran to the bathroom to spit it out) not sweet at all & both the sprite cup & the water cup was filthy, the menus had sticky stuff on them, then we ordered our appetizers & the honey mustard had this white stuff around it & clear stuff around the white stuff in the little container, the mozzarella sticks were not baked, they were not crispy they were mooshy & the I'm guessing chicken strips were these round things that were so hard that you could use them as frisbees. That was the so called sampler by the way! That was it for us we told the waitress this was the nastiest food, drink & there was barely any customers so we didn't understand why she was missing but yet was able to get the manager to our table pretty quick after we said we're leaving. I showed the managere everything & I asked was this the way honey mustard should look, she said no & I said you can keep this food poisoning we're leaving. Today after work my wife and I went out to Ruby Tuesday for dinner. It was my wifes choice for she likes the salad bar. I didnt want that this evening so I decided to order differently. I went with the mushroom swiss burger and tots. I have to say, sometimes in restaurants tots can be soft and somewhat soggy so I wasnt expecting much. I dont know if they have a timer set when frying, but the tots had a perfect fry/crunch. The burger patties didnt taste like it was frozen prior to cooking either. The burger was fresh tasting, cooked well and still moist. I was very pleased with the entire meal, my wife said the salad bar was really fresh tasting as well. Our waitress Olivia not only handled our order/table well but she had other tables and was also behind the bar making drinks. My peach lemonade was good. I know managers always hear complaints about cooking and other things so I made it my business to give a compliment. Freddy was the awesome cook tonight so compliments to him. Jesse the manager was a pleasure to talk to. I didnt know Jesse was the manager when I came in, I noticed while I was eating, he kept the salad bar full and available. Lastly, even my server ( I forgot to get his name, sorry ) with the long braids, knew what we needed before I could finish my sentence to ask.
