I rarely leave negative reviews, but my experience was so bad at the store, that I will never be back.
My boys had been asking for weeks if we could visit the comic book store, and after school shopping, I wanted to treat them to a comic and took them. As soon as I entered with my children, I was FOLLOWED around the store the entire time by staff. Regardless, I allowed my children to pick out books carefully, they had been saving their money. I also made some selections for my husband as a surprise for him.
Once I had checked out, I realized I had been over charged for a comic by $5. (It was labeled TWICE $7.99, and I was charged $12.99.). When I brought this to the staffâs attention, asking to be refunded the difference, the manager stood up and said I had made a mistake, that the item I picked was a variant cover, and I meant the common one. He retrieved me the regular one and said âthis is what you wanted.â (As though, the kids shouldnât have the âgood stuffâ.) I replied, âNo this is a gift for my husband, and I know what I purchased. I would like you to honor the price of your items.â He absolutely refused to do so, regardless of the price tag of his own items, stating that I could take the regular one, or return the one I purchased. But he would not honor his own price.
Unfortunately, my family will never be back. Sadly they have lost a ton of potential business, we are a huge comics and D&D family. There were a ton of things my kids had already decided to save up for. I hope the $5...
Read moreJust got screwed over on golden age boards that Pete claims he squared up with me. I bought these boards well over a year ago and they were warped. I ended up bringing them back a few months later to exchange them, but all of his boards are always warped. I handed the boards back to him and he said he would give new ones when they came in. So today I went there and asked for store credit to use towards another purchase. Pete refused stating there was "nothing in the system so we must've done an even exchange." So he basically made it seem like a loyal customer of 10+ years lied to him. I've spent thousands of dollars in that place despite marked up prices and the poor quality of product including the comic books themselves, but today was the last straw. You're wrong Pete, and you're not even man enough to admit you made a mistake. I guess 10+ years of loyalty means nothing to you. Just ask yourself, was it worth it to rob me of a few dollars because you didn't want to replace a product that you sold me knowing it was faulty? Shame on you. That's a very shady move. You know how to contact me if you decide to make things right, but I won't hold my...
Read moreI've been coming here for years but after today's experience I don't think I'll be back. I've spent a lot of money here and pick up multiple issues of the same comic all the time to keep one and send the other to a friend of mine who doesn't have any shops in his town. Today I came in for Walking Dead 192 (which my father had just picked up 2 of the blank cover versions on Saturday without a problem however he forgot the normal version as well) so I drove over 40 minutes out today with a couple of friends to pick up a couple copies of the normal version as well as an additional blank cover to get sketched at comic con. I was told they were one per customer so I handed one to each of my friends to have separate transactions if it was that big of a deal. The cashier then snapped at us saying he didn't appreciate that and said he'd just do it all at once. Very rude experience at what I thought was a decent comic shop. If the man sees this, I would like to apologize if it came off the wrong way but I am simply trying to help a fellow comic fan out. As we both know comic shops are becoming very hard to come by. Hope my...
