Today is Saturday, May 24 2025 and I will never ever go back to G’s restaurant to order anything. I took my family there for dinner after the movies and I tell you not this place is garbage. I ordered a steak with onions, mashed potatoes, and broccoli. I asked for the steak to become medium. They brought it to me burnt and put cold onions on it cold grilled onions, really!!! My son ordered a grilled cheese sandwich and it was two pieces of toast with two pieces of cheese in the middle of it wasn’t even melted. my other son ordered kids menu spaghetti and meatballs. The meatballs were cold. My wife ordered macaroni and cheese. It looked like it was noodles and soup. I called the manager over the tall white lady next to the register. She came over and got disrespectful with me and then told me that I was not setting a good example in front of my son. I told the lady you are yelling at me in front of my son and all I was asking you to see the way the food came out. I also told her that I am not looking for a free meal. She then told me well if you wanted a gourmet meal, you should’ve went somewhere else to eat. This is a diner lady. I have been to plenty of diners. I have been to Galloway Grill and never had a problem with their food. Maybe I should’ve waited the 45 minutes to have the dinner at Galloway Grill with my family, But G’s diner will never ever see a dime...
Read moreThis is not the same G's from years ago. The new owners are driving the good name into the ground. The food is mediocre-- not worth the price they charge. My son ordered a cannoli, and after taking a bite, commented on how bad and "chewy" it was. My wife and I also tried a taste of it, and I have to say, that it was really bad. Solid filling, and rubbery shell. When I mentioned it to the cashier, she apologized and said she would refund the price of the cannoli. The owner, Joanne, overheard the conversation and said that she was worried that we could get sick from eating it, because it was in the desert case for three weeks. She was very concerned about our safety, after we consumed a three week old cannoli, but she still did not offer a refund of the dinner. Unreal. I took my family out to the car, and went back inside to speak to Joanne again. After a loud discussion in the dining room about how they had served my family potentially dangerous food, I was begrudgingly given a refund. The owners (husband and wife) seem like rookies in the restaurant business. The waitress was very friendly and attentive; not her fault. Will definitely not be...
Read moreNovember 2024 update: Newly-reopened, G's is more of a diner today than ever it was in the past. A full menu, including breakfast served all day, gives patrons options and plenty to think about. So far, portions are large and cooked in a timely manner. Food arrives at the table hot and stays that way to get the most out of your meal. The "Drunken Chicken Parm" adds vodka sauce to a classic sandwich, with extra sauce for dipping or spreading brought to the table to accompany the sandwich. The pumpkin pie was a tasty treat at the end of a filling meal that included french fries, coleslaw, and a pickle.
The servers were attentive and friendly, checking in without being overbearing, and offering helpful menu suggestions and quick conversation. Other groups and families came in to also test out the new menu and vibe at G's. No one seemed disappointed, but don't expect a "Jersey diner" experience here. G's is uniquely Warwick!
One big element to note: these are not your grandpa's diner prices. Even a side of fries is $9.95, with most meals coming in between $15-20. Just a sign of the times,...
