Came here with my husband for a nice dinner our first night on a weekend away together. Everything was delicious and perfectly prepared. If we lived here it would be a go-to place for an occasion, and probably awhile before I thought to try other things on the menu, so satisfying were what we had, which were: warm bacon & poached egg salad, peppercorn steak, potatoes gratin, filet of sole grenobloise (capers & lemon sauce, light but full of flavor,) caffé legoux (coffee ice cream & caramel sauce,) and flourless lava cake. Although much was made of their wine options online, the waiter didn't describe options more than what the red & white special were. Coming from a large city, places whose decor jus looks like a home inside, but as with Les Baux is also kind of minimal & neutral tones, isn't an environment I really enjoy, but I know it's common enough with suburban locales. The waiter was communicative and warm.

My wife and I enjoyed this bistro very much. The food was excellent and there wasn’t a long wait time for it. The staff was friendly and welcoming. Everything we ordered were specials. The goat cheese appetizer was one of our favorites because of the flavor variety. On top of that, the cheese was from a local farm. The trout meunière was cooked to perfection and the meunière sauce was spectacular, with a slight tang to excite the tastebuds. The lamb sirloin au jus was perfectly cooked and the accompanying scalloped potatoes paired very well to enhance its flavor. The portions were beyond sufficient. Café Les Baux’s footprint is small, so we were close to other tables, but we never felt cramped and the noise level was never overpowering. We still felt like the atmosphere was sufficient for an intimate evening out for good food. You will not be disappointed when you come.

My girlfriend and I have come her twice so far (made the 1.5 hour drive 2 summers in a row), and the food is outstanding. While this is a nice place, and you would not be amiss to dress up a bit, what I really like about it is that while the food is amazing, the environment is relaxed, somewhat casual, while still having a hint of elegance. So whether you want to have a dressy night, or just walk in wearing shorts and a polo, both are perfectly acceptable. Moreover, my girlfriend lived on France for a number of months, and traveled there frequently with family throughout her childhood, and she says this place has some of the best French food she has had in America.

Omg - Horrible! Don't invest your time or money!!!! So.... first of all we are foodies with my hubby, we do travel and eat in small places and 5 star restaurants as well. We do not look for labels. We came to cafe les baux since in the area touring for our 11 year wedding anniversary. Service was nice, started well with apptz and drinks yet to informed us while dessert on the table that we have 5 minutes left- " would you like some espresso since we will need this table in 5 mins" ( made reservation 2 weeks prior)......our 10 year old sits with us listening to it. I ask for owner since i could not believe server will come out with such an idea. Owner came in...gosh!!!! CHinese lady owning french bistro!!! Please im European - i know better. And she is literary arguing with us to get out telling us place is small. Food was was ok - my son sandwich was very good $13, my $36 lamb was 5 out of 10, creme brulee extremly hard sugar top and custard was not smooth at all. Not worth it. NOT A FRENCH FOOD. Overall horrible experience, owner is nasty and I felt the most unwelcomed after spending $190 bucks. She ultimately killed my anniversary day - twice, embarrassed me in front of my child so does the...

My wife and I ( well dressed senior citizens) tried to have lunch today at 12:30 pm and were told the restaurant was all booked when it was plain to us that several tables were empty. We asked if we could wait for a table to open and was told no ; that everyone had just sat down for lunch. The hostess is a very RUDE person with no front desk manners who turns away paying clientele. Then we see that there are several other reviews saying the same comments about the Rude hostess. Too bad because the food is very good but not that good to be treated that way. Very ill suited for here position . Subsequent to writing this review ,my wife went to a local shop and mentioned the rudeness in this restaurant. Both the salesperson and other customer spoke about how everyone in town knows how rude this hostess is and how there are other fine and friendlier place to eat. The bad taste of an experience like this lasts far longer the the taste of a good meal. This restaurant had lost sight of the fact that they need us ; we don’t need them. Suggest a week long total boycott to help them rethink...

Went there last night for diner with my friend. We are both black, well travelled and educated. I usually don’t write reviews but have to this time. The Asian woman (who may be the owner or manager) who greeted us initially was not friendly and aggressively asked if we had a reservation, which we dis. It caught my friend’s attention but we said to ourselves” let’s see how the rest of the evening goes”. She sat us on a table for 2.we got there around 7:30pm and it wasn’t busy. Then the tables next to ours (table of 4 and table of 3) became occupied by white folks and one Asian lady. The “owner”/ manager on TWO occasions came to check on “her guests” to make sure they were doing fine etc.. she didn’t think it was necessary to do the same with us. If one doesn’t call it racism I have no explanations. Why would you give certain guest preferential treatment based on their the color of their skin? Anyway. Had to leave...
