I see this place often, but this is my first time stopping. Outside curb appeal is perfect. The nostalgic 1950s look with sidewalk tables, AND a parking lot is a winning combination! I must have arrived during a slow time. There was plenty of seating, although this restaurant is relatively small inside and is often filled to capacity. I stuck with the non adventurous bacon burger with mashed potatoes instead of the French fries. My mom had the fried chicken wings. We both have a problem with our clothes shrinking, so we just had water with our meals. My burger from Bun to Bun was excellent. Cooked precisely to my order, juicy and delicious. The bread was fresh, and they were not shy with the crispy bacon. The lettuce was not an old man but not a baby either. I gave my mom the tomatoes, and although she complained that they were probably cut way in advance, she ate them up like she was going to the electric chair. My accompanying little, and I mean little, cup of cold slaw was tasty just like the old-time NYC deli shops. The mashed potatoes were a disappointment. Obviously, a powdered version mixed with too much water, no milk or butter, they were kinda loose and tasteless. Additionally, the 3 onion rings had no crunch to them at all. Perhaps they were refried or made in oil that was not hot enough. Maybe people prefer spongy onion rings, and something is wrong with me. That is totally possible. The fried chicken wings looked and tasted proper. They were a normal size, not like those pigeon wings some places try to sell you. There was no flavor requested, just wings, and they fit the bill. The service was excellent. I did not get her name, but a lady with lots of interesting tattoos was professional and attentive. I don't know how old this structure is, but the bathroom showed every second of that age. It was not unclean. I want to be clear about that, it just looked used hard. Burger deluxe and wings, no sodas, $42! I guess there was an egg used in something, or this is the way and prices going forward. Speaking of prices, there are 2 charges for every item on the menu. I BELIEVE they charge you an extra 3 or 4% if you use a card or tap. That used to be against the rules of the card companies, and no processor charges 4% that I know of. A little Diner bill padding might be afoot. Who knows? I would prefer that a place charges what they need to make an honest profit and leave the algebra for the classroom. That's just me again. I left a 25% tip and put it in my waitresses' hand. I did not want her to have to pay any surcharges or tariffs on her job well done. I ain't no spring chicken and my age and shows in my reviews. All in all, after the sticker shock, I would definitely dine here again. Millbrook is a quaint, little, safe, easily walkable hamlet. 2 blocks up on the opposite side of the street is the Millbrook Antiques Mall (Antique and Open flags outside). That mall is well curated and has 3 floors of affordable treasures. You get to the Millbrook Antiques Center first, but I really really like the MALL better. I will be back to the Diner after visiting my happy place for sure. As always, your mileage may vary.

This was a solid diner — everything was above average. The pancakes were especially fluffy and delicious, definitely a highlight. The omelet was good too, though the seasoning could’ve been a bit stronger. The hash browns were a little dry and slightly overcooked, but still okay overall. The man who brought the menus and coffee was quite curt and standoffish — not exactly the warmest start to the morning. — maybe just not having a great morning? It made the start of the meal feel a bit awkward. Thankfully, the woman who served us later was much friendlier and helped balance things out. We sat outside on a beautiful fall day, which really made the meal more enjoyable. Overall, a good diner experience with a few ups and downs, but worth visiting if you’re in the area.

It's a diner, with diner food. The fries aren't from cut potatoes, but made from potato powder shaped into a fry-like shape, factory frozen and unbagged and cooked - nay, heated on site. Mine tasted reheated. But The home fries, The sweet potato fries and the onion rings were good, real food. The burger was OK, well done. I'd ordered rare. The lettuce had little soft dark green spots from miss-handling. Tomato was acceptable. The coleslaw was overly sweet and cloying. Too much sugar. The servers were attentive and aimed to please. The salmon topped salad was excellent

Had lunch at this nice little diner. I love the old trolley style diners. Yes they tend to be quite small. Especially if original and not expanded. Millbrook Diner is an expanded trolley diner. As such you get the old time feel that is a totally different experience. Being the noon hour, they were pretty busy. Although we were able to get a table without delay. It was a nice atmosphere even though the tight confines the small diner affords. As such, the rest room was also limited on space, but quite functional. The staff were excellent in handling the lunch time crowd. Our food was fairly quick considering, hot and well prepared. We enjoyed the lunch and tried to get on our way as other folks were waiting for a table. There seems to be a fair amount of parking both in front on the street and behind the diner. Although it looked like when we left, all spots were taken. All in all Millbrook Diner provided a good meal at a not too expensive price. No they were not inexpensive. But they were not overly expensive either. So if you like trolley diners, or just smaller diners with decent food. Millbrook diner will...

I wish I could give more stars to this diner as it's adorable and I loved the classic diner atmosphere and decor. However, I was charged full price ($13.75) for a Greek salad yesterday, despite the fact that they were out of grape leaves, which is the most expensive part of the salad. Without those, it's basically a regular tossed salad with some crumbled feta cheese and a couple of olives. I inquired about the issue and was told they didn't have any grape leaves, so they were aware of the omission (and offered to give me some extra green peppers instead - not exactly an equal switch), but charged me full price anyway. Also, my husband's Greek chicken wrap had plain canned black olives in it, which are much less expensive (and less flavorful) than the Kalamata olives that should have been used in a Greek wrap.

I can't say we'll be hurrying back here anytime soon, despite really loving the aesthetic of the place. I know times are tough, but don't charge customers for premium ingredients they...
